@chimoaus pretty sure Clarke is as tall as Bridge, if not taller!

Caleb might be borrowing Ardie's box to stand on for those official stats. Apparently he's a centimetre taller than Will Jordan!

I remember when that photo first dropped and my immediate reaction was, “Sotutu’s not that big”

@ACT-Crusader definitely someone who "plays above his weight". He's never looked imposing but his ability to power through tackles or into tackles is impressive.

If Clarke is 1.84, Jordan is 1.88 and Sotutu 1.92 that photo looks about right.

Ok now I am confused in one photo Sotutu looks shorter than Jordan, in the last one he looks taller. Short photographer for the former one?

Height in the backline: more important at fullback than wing? Did not seem to be important in Bled I.

Yep - though Clarke is listed widely on the interweb at 1.89.

    Height can be useful.

Ask Mitch Hunt about the end of the North South match.

For defusing cross field kicks on the goal line, yes, would rather have the giraffe there than DMac.

I think the original comment was about catching bombs though.

We shouldnt be getting into situations where Oz have the time and space to do cross field kicks.

picking someone to cover situations that might happen once or twice in a game and ignoring more basic winger attributes is just silly

and Hunt was on at 15 wasn't he....so shouldn't Jordie be at 15 to cover those kicks?

the more i think about it the more i think the selectors are just afraid of not playing BB and and then getting blasted for not fielding "world players of the year BB" if they dont play well, without forcing BB into the starting 15 things become a bit more simple

BB showed in the last test he has to start, took a lot of the workload off of Ritchie and his pace creates opportunities.

If JB isn't goalkicking he shouldn't be starting, so I'd replace him with Rieko. Reese is a liability on defence, so I wouldn't pick him.

Whats the better 10/15 combo? RM/BB or BB/JB?

I prefer the latter but I think the coaches are worried about next year. But who knows what happens next year? Ioane could mount a serious challenge to Mo'unga (and I suspect his game is better suited to Test rugby)

BB/JB IMO. If RM needs BB selected at fullback so we can have a functioning backline, then he's not the answer at 10.

I don't for a second want us to lose this test BUT if we were to lose it, the next Aussie test would have a WC final feel to it.

I know Jordie has his fans but I'd still take big brother at fullback if that was the choice to be made.

all jokes aside,we think Jordie is having a good run of form....and he's played a bit at 12....and midfield is still in flux...give him a run at 12?

Not for me. If they gave the midfield a settled go for once we might see some improvement. The constant shuffling can't help. Jordie is a good bench option for me - covers 12, full back, wing at at a stretch (in spite of where he has been starting) and 10 if we got really desperate.

what i find amusing is, there is this notion that you can either diffuse bombs or you can't.

Look across the Ta$man to the other code. League wingers are athletes selected for their finishing ability. Every singe one of them is good under the high ball, because they have to be given the nature of red zone attack.

Perhaps, and this is a crazy idea i know, but perhaps, our coaches could fucking do their job and teach players a new skill?

I am just astounded at just how good Jordie is on paper. He's a test-viable option in every spot in the backline! what a phenom. Generational talent...
