Shows like this can actually be a life saver for some guys i reckon. I follow Piri on insta and he's doing work! But he also blew up pretty huge 😬

Did he what ? Shocking for a guy not yet 40.

Cracked me up when he asked if the machine had been calibrated right though haha.

Weepu looked like he didn't move from the couch after the 2011 final. Such a shame because he could have been one of the greats if he could have stayed away from the bakery.

Second best on the list of halfback/first-fives isn't bad for a league kid from Wainui!

Pita Alatini hasn't aged a day and looks like he could step into an AB jersey tomorrow. Troy Flavell is in fantastic nick too, especially compared to his best mate Cribb who has really gotten out of shape. In the day it'd be hard to separate those two as pure athletes but now ? absolutely no comparison. Goes to show the value of keeping functional and active.

Kees Meeuws is even more enormous as is Eroni Clarke and Piri Weepu. Loads of work for the fitness trainers for that bunch. I don't think they've missed too many feeds over the years.

The banter and laughs were top quality, some real characters and you could tell they were all thrilled to catch up with eachother again.

Meeuws is above criticism in my view, so please leave him alone.

I wonder if he's still a machine in the gym? I suspect he could still throw some big weights around.

I think prop forwards always retain a certain amount of muscle strength. I think there is an intrinsic strength to these guys that never leaves. When was the last time you saw a former front rower whose now rather svelte?

    Hammett...

That was from the stress of coaching

    @BartMan 🙂

Isn't he freaking massive ..... but not in a fat way!

This is an old video. Has he bulked up since then?

How gay would you have to be to watch more than 10 seconds of that?

Watched Matchfit last night too. Really enjoyed it and so did my son. Its gonna be interesting to see how these guys go.

Yeah the difference between Flavell and Cribb was a real eye opening. See Flavell a bit as he does pilates at one of the wifes studios but Cribb obviously hasnt been doing much other than taking it easy after all those injuries and operations

Pilates and Yoga are so good for the little stablisers. No coincidence that Flavell looked bloody nimble running out there when they were playing touch.

His haircut is still way too pretty boy for a former tight forward though.

He helped out in his Dad's shop in Onehunga. They were part of a chain of stores that my old man used to work for from memory - he knew them both anyway.

From the promos, it sounds like Cribb has had a pretty tough time of it - was living in his car for a while (I was only half watching and wondering who he was) - though that story is presumably going to be told in the later episodes.
