Why not Will Jordan at 14 and Jordie Barrett at 15??
D Mac can be on the bench (at best)

If they'd brought Jordan in, there wouldn't be any 10 cover. McKenzie had to come in but shoulda been on the bench with Clarke promoted. And on that, given Bridge can play fullback, he should be able to play on either wing.

Has ever actually played FB at a decent level or is this some Cantab fluffer myth to make George appear to be more than just the white Zac Guildford?

Played there for Canterbury quite a few times and filled in there for the Saders and an in-game replacement for injury.

My memory of George Bridge at fullback is when Asafo Aumua skinned him on the outside for a try.

@No-Quarter I don’t think it’s fair to judge Jordie properly until he’s in his rightful position.

It’s a shame Foster is a tugboat. I mean what he’s shown with these selections is that Super Rugby form means f all. You can’t go and say Jordie is the best fullback in NZ three times in a midweek press conference and then not give him the opportunity when it arises. Such a plonker.

    His rightful position is 12.

@mariner4life Some of us are still struggling to get over Cardiff Arms Park in 1905!

    I still blame Deans.

    I still blame John Dallas.

    This actually deserves repeating

There are some positions in a rugby team where the players can influence the result more than others.

Stating the obvious they are openside flanker, number 8, halfback, first five and fullback.
JB is the best FB in NZ. JB to fullback DMac to wing. DMac injury cover first five. The selection thought process is awry.

The flakiest player in NZ who shouldn't be anywhere near the 46 gets a start lol.

    Who is that? Jordie?

Mud sticks for sure. Jordie is so far ahead of DMac right now it's not even funny, especially when it comes to the attributes you want at test level. But I'm sure every single little mistake he makes will be poured over as proof he's unreliable.

    Well yeah, but pored.

Whatever DMac faults , his defence is bloody good - even against guys the size of Nadolo.

If Beuadie was unavailable from the start , surely we would have seen Jordie at 15 then

I'd wager. Clarke starting and McKenzie on the bench. In other words, what should be happening now.

well people, despite the unusual selections, I'm amped. First AB game fo the year.

Brewing already, hash browns for breakfast, warm up with some NCAA this afternoon and then a bottle of vino, some craft beers and the first Test of the year! Charcoal steak for dinner

If this isn't happiness, I don't know what is. Roll on 2021, but a nice big win would suit me down to the ground right now

edit: selections, not suggestions. damn autocorrect.

@nzzp you're going to smash a bottle of plonk pre-game, then tuck into some crafties and still hope to be able to cook a decent steak? Righto.

Also, rugby, beer and red meat? Why don't you just tell us all you're going to "chuck one in the missus" for full effect? 😝

in fairness, it'll be shared with others. But a Test requires a decent drop as well I reckon. And given the Crafties are on tap in my house, it'll be one or two. Big day at work tomorrow.
