A couple of things have crossed my mind as possible selection explanations.
Goodhue has possibly become Mounga's tackling proxy and Foster has followed Razor's lead.
BB is at 15 to move up to 10 in defensive sequences. Expect to see RM dropping to 15 a lot instead of shuffling out.
It was that shuffling out that Eddie Jones identified and targeted to great effect.
That explains Goodhue at 12, BB at 15 and JB being too good to leave out. Bridge is still a mystery.
Bridge is less of a mystery if we are going to kick a bit. Also he is good running off the shoulder of Mo’unga who is attacking the line from 1st 5 far more than Beaudie is these days.
I’m hopeful that a fired up Cane and Tuipoluto and a better outing from our front collectively will have us in better shape than the RWC semi.
He runs off RMs shoulder but makes as much ground as Owen Franks.
Those little half gaps don't appear as much in test footy for him to exploit. He’s scored tries at test level in the middle of the park and through traffic.
Plus the cross field kick combo with Richie is good also.
But....but...he's just so 'Ralph'
I’m sensing a new adjective.
Ie ‘the wallabies will look to exploit Bridges sheer Ralphishness’
Or ‘his Ralphishness in contact meant the try scoring opportunity was lost’
I just can't grasp the idea of a modern AB team without a big strong brown boy on one of the wings.
I was going to say that this reminds me too much of Guildford and Jane together, but then they helped slaughter the Bokke at the Caketin once.Sound like one of the many tests Guildford stole from Hosea Gear.

get fucked
our 3rd best 8. picking two 7s.
the best fullback shunted to the wing in order to select the 2nd best fullback
neither of the two wingers are really the best in the countryand it's one of the last physically imposing back 3s i have ever seen
this is a shit team selected by fuckheads.
I was initially really concerned until I read this. Now I think we'll win by 20+.
The back three is SOOOOO RWC 2011. Excellent sign.

The only position I can't fathom is Jack at 12, but then again ALB was hardly inspiring during SRA. The rest make sense given the new coaching staff, debutants in the squad and odd build-up. I think they want to ease the squad into Tests and new structures.
A good win and they can start to look at moving further down the path. Had Fozzie & Co. selected a raft of debutants and lost, you'd all be screaming anyway.
The last time we all unanimously agreed that they picked the right players we got belted in Perth.
i didn't agree with that team! Hated Barrett starting and Savea at 6
Well unanimous by Fern standards. There's always one or two contrarians.

I’m going to hold judgement until after the game. Even though it’s less fun.
Get the fuck out of here with that shit. Put your balls on the block like the rest of us, makes for far more entertaining post match analysis.

fixed.
Many a next great thing has come and gone and not beaten Howlett's record. I don't think Bridge will be the one.
I guess it did help having Henry as AB coach to ensure he got all those tests aye 😎
By the way I was a massive Howlett fan because of his kick chase game. Still the best of seen in that regard. He’s always in my all-time AB XV team thingys. I see many similarities.
Bridge has 9 tries after 9 tests. Douggie had 8 tries after 9 tests.
Bridge has scored against Japan, OZ, Tonga, Boks, Ireland
Howlett had scored against Tonga, France, Italy, Samoa, Argentina -

Pricing for Sydney is outrageous!!!
Is that pre-release? Because they're not on public sale according to Ticketek
Looking at the double-headers for Bankwest - $300 for 2 games of Test Rugby in the best stadium in Sydney sounds alright. They'll sell pending COVID.
Yeah, came via email offer. I love my son, but not this much...

I'm assuming this is the game that was rescheduled, so it might be a premium for the late notice.
I honestly have no idea what the schedule was to begin with.

Is it sold out yet?

Those that have previously felt the pain of Fozzie have reacted as expected including myself. The selection has all the hallmarks of a confused Chiefs team previously under his control.
I can understand getting both Barretts on the field at the same time. Although the ballsy option would have been keeping Beauden as the super sub. Jordie has been immense playing in that position this year.
I could understand Goodhue at centre but not at 12. I struggle to even understand the rationale behind this one.
Given Cane was going to be captain, I would have had Ardie as a super sub as well. If we were trying to address weaknesses of the World Cup, Sotutu’s size alone would have been a better fit.
Still think we will win by 10+ but shit I think we could have done better

I'm with @voodoo I'm fine with Beauden and Jordie in the back three. They link up well and Beauden will no doubt keep his little brother in position. It's pairing them up with Bridge that is so meh. Rieko and Clarke were my front runners for the 11 jumper with daylight behind them.
You do realise Beaudie left the Hurricanes, so you don’t have to fluff him any more 😎
On this Bridge fella, he’s the real dealz. He’s got the busnizz and what it takes. He will prove you’s guys all wrong
Using zeds to describe him only makes him something that was "rad" in the Eighteez

Pre sales for those registered with Wobblies travel peeps.
Trying to convince Mrs B that an overnighter to Brissy on 7 Nov is a good idea. But she wants to give all our disposable income to @mariner4life to go visiting Cairns at Christmastime.

On this concept of the team being "safe".
IMO the "safe" team is not necessarly the team that is most likely to win.
Picking a team that is "less likely to lose" is kind of a pussy way out of taking a risk of trying to win, and conversely makes you more likely to lose because you're less likely to win.
That made sense when I thought it through in my head. Think it still does, but I'll leave it to youse guys.
-
@booboo safe as in he's going with players he knows well rather than players actually showing form. Safe in his head but in reality he's picked a team that has some fairly obvious weaknesses.

Ha ha. The doomsday prophets who enjoy writing off the selection already. Prefer to give the coach a chance. Only 1 chance mind.

Yeah, I wouldn't consider that midfield and JB on the wing playing it safe. And let's face it, the jury is still very much out on whether RM at 10 BB at 15 can work long-term.

Lets face it Jordie has been very sketchy at test level, no ways Foster was going to leave Beaudies experience on the bench in his first outing. If we see poor decision making from Jordie hes getting pulled quickly, would no surprised to see ALB,Goodhue with Rieko on the wing fairly early in the game.
-
@bayimports on Goodhue, he hasn’t played one game at 13 this year as far as I can remember anyway. Much to my dismay but he has been at 12 all season.
-
I would've put money on Jordan making the 23. At least Sotutu is, here's hoping both players impress when they do get the chance. Ardie and Beaudie should be fighting for their natural positions, not being shoehorned in when they are perfect utility bench players.
