When is "peak"? More experience? More youthful innovation? Pretty hard to gauge I would have thought.
Had Hansen gone stale? Is Rennie already past it? Is Leon still learning? Robertson needs to prove more?At what age / experience level is a coach ideal?
Hansen was down to leave at the end of the Lions, and should have. Foster could have had a crack at RWC, then we’d see from there. 2 years too long 100%

@Machpants That's one I think you'd get a pretty firm consensus on.
You've got to think he perhaps wasn't quite leaving no stone unturned the way they were in 2011 - and maybe he'd become a bit too attached to his old guard - and maybe a bit too powerful.

Crusaders Injury Update - Oli Jager
Oli Jager was transferred to hospital following the game against the Highlanders.
He was subsequently cleared of a serious neck injury but did sustain a concussion and has a sore shoulder.
He will be reviewed by the Crusaders medical team over the next couple of days, and he is currently at home recovering.

@Duluth I do wonder what they think rugby teams may do with the trophy after winning it. Pro tip: it's going to involve photos, beer and probably nudity. The trophy's probably going to be taken places it shouldn't ... some of the Ranfurly Shield stories are a bit out there too.

@kiwiinmelb Super rugby has never been a problem for him as its a looser style of play. He's always done well there and becomes more and more dangerous when his side falls behind and starts playing what's in front of him. The jury is still out at test level on him though where defences are far harder to unlock (obviously) and the ball he receives is far more static and he isn't playing off the front foot as much.

@African-Monkey this year was different. He didn't have as much front foot ball because the Crusader pack was down on previous years.

@Crazy-Horse Yup fair call. He has had is fair share of front foot ball this year but not as much as you mentioned and took full advantage of it as we know he can do, but has been more dangerous in this comp when his side has had to chase games as I mentioned. Test level is a different beast however, and I still feel that he is more of a weapon coming off the bench at this stage with Barrett starting and slipping back to fullback later in games.

I would have thought that as a no.10, Richie Mo'unga is much more suited to tight, test match Rugby that Beauden Barrett? Is this really even up for debate any more? Sure, he turned a few matches this year with some x factor players, but overall he's a much more conservative style of first-five than Barrett. BB's major problem is that he was never able to counter an effective rush defense.
