Ben Clarke was another pommy 6 (played 8 too IIRC) I rated, but Kaino shold be in every 6 conversation, as would MJ.

The strength in depth of the Wales team has been talked about a lot in the last few years - so how good is it?

Tbh. Until you pointed that out. I actually thought it was might mouse Scottish prop from 70s that geech picked, not mighty mousish from the 90s.
Yes. That's a bit underwhelming. Good player. But never at the time did I think I was watching the best player in history in his position. Was he the beat LHP of his decade? Debatable.
Geech coached him for 2 teams. Though.

As you say, the problem was on the other side of the scrum.Just saying Os would be picked ahead of Smith in my top XV.
