Great player though. Best six ever? Not so sure
I didnt read what started the conversation, I was talking in context of the English squad from the early 00s where he was the heart and soul of it and others got the lollies!
Ben Clarke was another pommy 6 (played 8 too IIRC) I rated, but Kaino shold be in every 6 conversation, as would MJ.

@MiketheSnow mate that's a tap. Hill should change his name to Hollywood.

It's a deliberate forearm/elbow to the temple.
Crumpled Hill and fucked his knee in the process.
Dirty, dirty, premeditated shit from Grey.
Look at Grey's lookback. He fucking knew.
Grey had a stormer in the second half possibly feeling he would be cited at least and miss the possible deciding third test.

@MiketheSnow Hill should stop moving his temple down to his chin, leaves it way more exposed.

I think you could make an argument for other props in this team. Tom Smith was good, but his reputation is based mainly on the 1997 Lions tour, and obviously he is Scottish.
Tbh. Until you pointed that out. I actually thought it was might mouse Scottish prop from 70s that geech picked, not mighty mousish from the 90s.
Yes. That's a bit underwhelming. Good player. But never at the time did I think I was watching the best player in history in his position. Was he the beat LHP of his decade? Debatable.
Geech coached him for 2 teams. Though.

Only one I'd question is Tomos Williams starting at 9. Could be either Davies or Webb depending on who's going well in training.

@MiketheSnow I've only just tried to read the article and gave up after the shitty page pop-ups and ads still hadn't finished loading by the time I'd managed to eventually get down to blindside with far too much effort than should have been required.

Didn't miss much

@Rapido Ian McLauchlan was his name. Before my rugby watching.
I would probably pick Os du Randt at LH prop.
McGeechan didn't select as many old timers as I thought.
Os was the LH in that 97 series.
Tom Smith got the better of Adrian Garvey

I know. As you say, the problem was on the other side of the scrum.
Just saying Os would be picked ahead of Smith in my top XV.
