    @Stargazer I'll restate my premise; it's 'easier' from the Crusaders.

    You kind of make my point for me with this:
    The Crusaders wouldn't have signed guys like Bryn Hall and others from out of the regions, because these players wanted to be there and were "discarded" by other franchises. These players always had the talent. These other franchises simply didn't recognise the talent and/or weren't able to develop the potential.

    If you have the talent, it has been easier to make the ABs from the Crusaders. Because, as you say, other franchises didn't recognise it, or develop them to their potential.

    and of course, a winning culture, supported by a competent set of administrators, and surrounded by good players helps 🙂

    I think that Fozzie has said they see him as a winger who can play center (rather than the other way around), so I assume that if he is to start it will be at 11 or 14.

    Nope...not the point. He's playing centre, so including his stats in a list of wings is about as meaningful as including Barrett's in a list of 10s.

    Ah, sorry, I see. Fair point although I took those stats from Fox sports selecting 'wingers' only. I guess Rieko has had one or two starts on the wing, so gets put in that section too?

    @gt12 ah right ok, they're for the whole year? Sorry I figured they were for SRA.

    I honestly don't know, but I think they are for the whole year.

    @Bones Those Fox stats are for the first 7 rounds of SR only and don't include SRA.

    @gt12 Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find them. Maybe they don't compile this list for a one-off comp?

    @Stargazer

    Yeah, they release leaders in some categories here, and games stats on ESPN.

    It sucks that ESPN don't seem to put them together in a database for comparison.

    Edit 8and edit): A quick look at the game player stats from last week shows that Reece created plenty (2 try assists, 2 Defenders beaten, 1 clean break), but also has the problem of turning it over (4 turnovers which lead the team). Over two weeks he's attempted 7 tackles and made 5.

    @Bones

    There is probably enough capability here for us to design something that trawls the ESPN stats page post game then accumulates them for each player over time?

    It's already been designed I think.

    Jordie Barrett showed his range of skills. He must be a probability for the AB squad when it is eventually named.

    Yeah, if he carries on like this he's a shoe in.

    Yeah, if he carries on like this he's a shoe in.

    McKenzie on the other hand is at a real risk of missing out if he continues with his current vein of form.

    With Havili, Jordan and Barrett I really can't see the need eh.

    Third halfback on the other hand....

    If Barrett at 10, I’d go 15-Jordan, 14-Reece, 11-Ioane

    If Barrett at 15, I’d go 10-Mo’unga, 11-Ioane, 14-Reece or Jordan

    Midfield is ALB/Goodhue or Luamape/Goodhue

    It might be a year early for Clarke with the limited test opportunities.

    Reece is a fine player but he hasn't cemented his position in black. If the 2 Blues wings are outplay their counterparts head to head then they deserve a shot.

    In a normal year, I'd have expected Foster to be allowed to take a big squad to Europe as part of rejuvenation plans - but, this year, with funds tight and only a handful of tests, I think it will be pretty small - maximum of 31?
