Not a disaster but I went to the Mrs' family get-together. Their family do a secret santa system so they all get one awesome present each. So I wouldn't be left out my Mrs said that her parents were getting me a gift but that was all. So all I went with was a gift for her folks.
Well as it turns out I end up getting gifts not only from her folks but also her brother, her sister who that day flew in from Europe and even her new boyfriend who that day flew in from the States...so yeah great grinch impression on the family there.

Colorado man robbed bank, immediately threw cash in air yelling 'Merry Christmas'
A Colorado Springs, Colo., robber was anything but discreet after he stole thousands from a downtown bank on Monday afternoon, with witnesses saying he immediately ran outside and yelled "Merry Christmas!" while throwing wads of cash into the air.
An eyewitness told KKTV that the man, identified by police as 65-year-old David Oliver, left the bank, threw money into the air, shouted the holiday wishes, then went to a nearby Starbucks where he sat down and waited to be arrested.

A close run thing.
We have a new oven which packed a sad. Luckily the Turkey had finished cooking and only the Brussels Sprouts were under-cooked.
On the plus side, I got a bottle of Auchentoshan Three Wood Single Malt from Mrs Meldrew.

The neighbors dog got in to the fridge in the garage and ate 2 chickens and a pork fillet.
It's lucky we always massively over-cater.

The neighbours should put that dog on tv - he managed to get into a garage and then open the fridge and then sort through the beer and salad to get the meat.

I don't think this neighbours dog is silly enough to mess with @mariner4life's beer, it's FNQ he likely has a gun(s).

The Black Caps getting screwed at the CWC and the ABs screwing themselves at the RWC made for a tough year sporting wise. Going online and moaning about it with a bunch of sad bastards like myself does seem to help, so thanks for all the yarns, and GFYs.
For me, the ABs losing was cushioned by the about 20 mattresses of the Mako winning earlier in the evening.
