@Nevorian aren't we scheduled to meet them on the EOYT 2020?
Yep, we play England at Twickenham on 7 November, 2020.
That will be a good one, especially if they are the World Champs.

There is no love lost between Steve Hansen and Warren Gatland. While Gatland used his final press conference as Welsh coach to bizarrely challenge his Kiwi successor Wayne Pivac to match the efforts of his 12-year tenure, Hansen swiftly landed two flush blows to his opposite. First Hansen reminded the Welsh media that his record against Gatland is 8-1-1 in the All Blacks favour. "It's been competitive, yeah," Hansen quipped. He then questioned New Zealand Rugby's decision to let Gatland sacrifice one season his four-year Chiefs contract to lead the British and Irish Lions in 2021. Don't let pictures of these two heavyweight Kiwi coaches sharing a post-match beer fool you, they do not get along.

On a side note. I was shocked to see how many people were calling for Foster takeover, in my news feed today. All people I thought knew something about rugby too.:face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:
Russian interference.

I'd like to see a trilogy of Joseph/Foster/Mitchell.
JJ as head coach;Foster because of the experience he brings(if only to remind us of the mistakes made in the 2019 campaign and the 2011/15 positives) and it's time to forgive Mitch-he has the goods now-especially in defence. No Robertson/Sader dominated team thinking please!
Out there-I know,but a nice blend.
Wouldn't say no to Plumtree or Brown either!

Chur.Another blast from the past, this World Cup has certainly been good from hearing from past posters.

Nothing like a failed RWC cup bid to cause a relapse and need for group therapy!!

Can you check it's not a post that somehow got drafted 18 odd years ago? Someone suggesting we take the England assistant coach just seems familiar.

The more I listen the more I think Fozzie could be head coach. He's been in the setup and provides some continuity so we dont lose all we've learned in the last 14 years or so. But he needs quality coaches to run the team, who can provide new ideas and approaches. Robertson and Brown
-
So when is the (coaching) team announced?
With no rugby to distract (yeah yeah Premiership) this is gonna be a long time waiting for this

I think it was mentioned that it would be before Christmas...or was that the team selecting the team?
I'm confused. Anyway it should be a Thursday if that helps.

I'm pretty sure that is the approach he is taking. As Shag has explained, his role is simply to manage the other experts in the team, not be the dictator. I think Fozzie has learned enough of those organisational and directional skills that if he was to assemble a team of hands on coaches it would do well.
I could see him pitching a 'Director/Manager' role with someone like JJ or Razor as head coach.I'm really not sure if that is enough to lure JJ away from the buckets of Yen that must be being waved under his nose but maybe there is some succession planning as part of it whereby Fozzie runs this WC cycle with his supporting act then taking over.

JJ is being offered double his current salary by Japan. They'll need him if they are joining the Rugby Championship (man I hope they change that name)

It would be interesting to know how much this is in comparison to what the AB coaches are paid. Judging by the Chch house Hansen is selling he did alright.

Yeah hate that name, like World Champs in USA. Five Nations the Reboot? Holders of 8 World Cups League?
