England favourites surely.
Nope, Boks can match England’s forwards.
Agreed. Boks forwards were seriously physical today. Simple game plan well executed.
NZ/Wales game will be interesting. Hansen won't want to go out on a double loss & Gatland would love to leave Wales having beaten NZ
Yeah, makes that game interesting. Another record for Hanson to lose?

@MiketheSnow Comiserations, chap. A game too far, and now I fear that next week's 3rd place playoff may not be pretty from a Welsh pov, but I'll be hoping that Wales sign off the Garland era in style whatever the result.

Had the result, not the winners.
Was never going to be a spectacle..
We were architects of our own demise.
And Garces and team were fucking atrocious.
We've learned nothing since losing to France in the 2011 SF.
Comiserations Michael.
We feel your pain.
But just to make you feel better, in the grand traditions of TSF, and me ... Australia.

Wasn't Jones assistant coach last time SA won the world cup?
Yep.
A bit on the stale side, that game.
Not helped by Garces refusing to acknowledge an offside line - you can't have attacking rugby if the ref isn't going to challenge last feet, or when he does, just assists players verbally in getting back.
I'm all for material effect but it tends to shut a game down, and Wales needed tries to win that game.

Oh yeah, I'm thinking 3v4. Sorry.

We do seem to specialise in games that don’t matter these days
-
Fuuucckk, so close. Was always going to be a tight game, both sides had the chance to win it at the end. SA took theirs, Wales didn't. End of.
Tough luck @MiketheSnow that's a tough one to swallow.
-
Fucking numb.
We had that match just where we wanted it and didn't have the ambition to go wide or the patience & precision to keep on trucking it up.
It was just a matter of time before Graces noticed SA transgressing.
Penalty in front of the sticks.
19-16 us ball kicked back to us. Tuck it up the jumper.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK
Perhaps we should have taken a leaf out of England's book and ran at them
-
@MiketheSnow Wales seem to just hang in there until the other team loses, as opposed to winning themselves. This based on seeing them in 2 games this RWC. But it damn near worked against the Bokke, i thought thet were going to.
Headline was to read, Wales don't lose, as opposed to Wales win....

Don't think we trust our attacking game, never had to be honest.
Under Gats he's changed the psychology (and fitness levels) in that the players hang on in games and believe they can sneak a victory.
But the basic skills are still lacking under pressure in an attacking sense.
I'm with Mike on the NZ match, we'll probably get stuffed with a four day turnaround and the injuries we've picked up today.
The ironic thing from the Welsh psyche is a win against NZ would nearly mean more than a RWC win. Probably be more important to some people.
I'm not holding my breath though. 😁
