@Bovidae last few years have shown SBW was always in the coaches plans, Crotty was probably the fly in the ointment: such a classy player but probably didnt quite suit what they are trying to achieve currently.

That said, if we win and meet SA in the final, is Crotty the best option then given how he & ALB went last outing, or is the fact he wont have played for a month make it too hard to get back barring injury?

I wonder if once they got into camp TWM decided ALB was better at finding the gaps created by the new multipod system? Interesting that they resisted tempatation to take a second 'basher' at 12.

Well if we lose, silver lining. Foster won't be new head coach....

And of course there's chinks in the armour, but the armour is constantly evolving. I mean, I haven't seen the All Black forwards play that directly since first Lions test last series.

And as an aside, all this 'knowing how to beat All Blacks' shit past players are spouting.
Lion's second test last series? So they need to get an AB sent off after 24 minutes, that's a tough game plan to implement on a regular basis methinks!
Boers last year? Get the ABs to gift you 21 points and then hang on!!

I think the only real beating up of the ABs the last few years is Paddies in Chicago and Convicts in Perth. The rest of the losses are just the ABs running out of time to win 😉

In Hong Kong airport sweating on my flight to Tokyo!

    No complaints about Perth.

Perth was valuable IMO. They played passively and got well beaten by a better team and guess what? The world didn’t end. Hansen didn’t get fired, no players got threatened by the public, a handful of nutters calling up ZB and the troll journos with their clickbait and that’s it. Compare that to the reaction at previous losses. I think the general public would like the ABs to win, and believe they have the tools to do it, but nobody is going to die if they don’t. That’s got to be a great relief of pressure on the team right there.

I love how you leave out the subsequent meltdown on the Fern.
    Very slick.

Oh I don’t count them. Morans the lot of them.

Is that the Irish branch of the Moron clan?

Well If true , I guess the only surprise element maybe where they send their runners , has he identified something in our defence that he thinks he can exploit ?

Dunno, an intercept worked last time though.

*borrowed that from another poster, but great word for it!

I'll take credit for coining that phrase 😊 They are just amazing to watch at the moment, really got shown by the 1014 who were creaming themselves about what the ABs were doing

So when does the game start (NSW time)? I'm starting to go stir crazy and responding to laws debates.

@nzzp a genuine supporter, once you saw B scoring in his corner you were hooked on this game for life. A whole generation of Wellingtonians will never forget.

Damn, three year old is back early and hopped up on sugar so I'm going to open the bottle of Berton Durif I was given today - not my usual tipple but the three year old requires some degree of warding through alcoholic haze in order for me to survive.
Hopefully I make the bottle last until kickoff

    Off to the ground soon.

Weather looks good so hopefully the surface isn’t too wet from yesterday!

Nervous times in the Rembrandt household. Having a few folk over for the game but a few hours ago a weird weather event came through our neighbourhood, sudden rain and heavy wind. It ripped our neighbours roof off and is now resting mid air on some powerlines.
Police and news media arrived sharpish but no sign as yet from power company or whomever would be equipped to move a displaced roof. Hoping like hell they can just isolate the power to that house or that side of the street..a power cut in a couple hours would not be ideal.
