Why are emojis so troublesome for you

@ACT-Crusader said in TRC: The All Blacks against the Springboks (version 98):
Forget the trolling itβs the excessive use of emojiβs and having to refer to the emojipedia that does my head in.
Yet you're the one advising us all to hit mute when we complain about the commentators....

But for this fixture we have the Crusaders who are so good, they beat the Pumas in the Super Rugby final.
But wasn't that a friendly?
-
I'm guessing, but I assume that everyone picked will get at least some opportunity (perhaps not Aumua), so the team I'd run out - given that the coaches have said clearly that they don't value the RC - is:
- Moody
- Taylor
- Franks
- Hemopo (this would be the game to find out if he has Brad Thornism or not)
- Whitelock
- Frizzel
- Todd
- Read (c)
- TJP
- Mo'unga
- R. Ioane/ Bridge
- SBW
- Goodhue
- Bridge/ Ioane
- B. Smith
- Coles (Aumua)
- Karl T.
- Laulala/Ta'vao
- Retallick
- Paps
- A. Smith
- Ioane
- B. Barrett/Laumape

Don't hate this idea but I'd rather they just pick the strongest team given the opposition.

Agreed, SA beat us last time at home, and we need confidence vs them as the result of the opening RWC pool game will basically determine if we win the tournament or not!
I, for one, enjoy @Jaguares4real 's use of emojis

@TeWaio yeah, I hope both sides are as close to full strength as possible. And that like the previous two fixtures, they go hammer and tongs at each other for 80.
Nothing friendly about a bok AB game, especially given the stakes in September.
Beating the ABs in New Zealand ranks pretty bloody close to a WC for me anyway.
-
From this point I'd like to see the first choice loose forward and centre combinations selected and given time to develop combinations from here on out. If the gap between the candidates is so fine that they need to look at them four tests out from a RWC, then it doesn't matter who they pick - there is more to gain in building the combination IMO.
I would like to see some rotation in the attack coach role.

Do you consider a Test Match vs Italy a serious game?
Especially one which ends up being 3-66....
Italy are Tier 2 nation with a tier 1 Economy
They're mere cannon fodder in 6 NationsMoreover when was the last match you saw an ABs side spend 30 seconds in an opponents 22 in 2nd half a Test Match
Pumas set up camp on ABs 40 metre linePumas 2nd half mauling was for nothing as they made too many errors when they had the pill I look forward to play NZ in Buenos Aires in 2020 with a very similar side
What has Italy got to do with a single thing you have posted above ?

Italy appear to be part of the massive chip he has on his shoulder over other teams that occupy the same tier as Argentina. Japan and Scotland being the others.
But 2020 is going to be the year the Pumas/Jaguares DOMINATE! Or maybe 2021 or 2022 or 2023. No one else stands a chance because they are all rubbish or their players will be past it by then.

Yes Italy are terrible. As a Scots fan I love that they're in the six nations.
I am slightly triggered by this though, Scotland are still 7th in the world althoughas @Jaguares4real says rankings are ultimately meaningless ( just like test matches ) so I shouldn't get so wound up.

Getting classed alongside the awesome mighty Pumas and the giant killing japanese is nothing to turn your nose up at. The way theyβve been going you can probably include Australia in that tier too.
-
Italy are exactly as good as you would expect for a minority winter sport in a soccer mad country.
If we play them, then apparently it's apparently a meaningless romp for us. If we refuse to play them, then were are snobbish piston wristed gibbons who don't want rugby to thrive. For some people, there's no way anything we do will be right.
And while Italy will struggle to beat the top nations, it's only that way precisely because they do take them seriously. If we run out a badly under-strength side against them, then we can expect to be beaten. It wasn't that long ago that the Springboks discovered that.

They could prevent Scotland getting out of the pool come World Cup time.
That would be shit.

France showed in 99 and 07 it is much better having the ABs put 50+ points on you in Wellington in a RWC year if you plan on beating them at the tournament.
Rassie should follow that plan instead.
