@nzzp yeah unfortunately we have lost many of our 'international' posters over the years, for a variety of reasons
i, for one, blame the cantabs.
That why I'm expecting every Kiwi rugby fan on this forum who doesn't support Canterbury to be supporting the Jaguares tomorrow night
no no, that's not how it works. Internally we bicker and fight, but when some foreign invader comes in, we circle the wagons. We are all honorary Cantabs this week. I'v even blacked out a couple of my teeth in support
Aww thats so nice.
I'd support the Jags over every other Kiwi team hate them all
Except for maybe the Blues, because I almost feel sorry for those losers
Cleaning my teeth as we speak...

this place has been a dead zone so far this year
Weird perception. Traffic is going nuts, the busiest it's been for years.
Compared to the same period last year we have 50% more unique IPs. Posting is well up too
Last year there was a very clear peak around the England Test. We've reached that level the last four weeks in a row
Interesting. Didn't feel that way

I would have been if it wasn't for you - you're doing the opposite of your intent (for one person at least). :face_with_stuck-out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Yep!

So, aside from the undroppable SBW, who's the luckiest fecker in the Squad, do you think?
How about who's the most unluggy poor bugger that missed out?
For me the luckiest forward is actually Matt Todd. He's a sader, so can't play the first game, and won't be going to Japan (outside of injuries to Ardie or Cane) - he's just another of the bloated number of loose forwards. We know he can cut it, and is first on the plane if injuries strike. I guess he's there cos Ardie has put in the time over SR, and doesn't need much more over RC. Backs it's Jordie, who has the ability to feck oop so badly as to lose us the cup - obviously an SBW who's highlights since RWC15 is a little good defence along with being injured often, a waste of a spot in the 7s team, and losing us the Lions tour is majorly lucky that the Wise Men believe his experience is so useful.
Unluggy would be Havili, better than Jordie but I guess isn't that 3rd 10 covering one RWC pool game for our 2 normal tens
England were leading 15-0 til he went off and Crotty replaced him. Of course this could be coincidence.
Not specifically standing up for SBW but how exactly did he contribute to the 15 point deficit?
From my recollection (and I did a Mr Mike using the stop/go function on Foxtel) was he made one mistake. And that was still a fucking good option, in that the grubber didn't quite bounce the right way.
Am not an SBW fan or apologist but do see how he has to perform to perfection to allay some people's expectations.
From what I recall, it wasn't so much anything SBW did wrong as the fact that the AB backline's decision making improved massively after Crotty came on.

Just saw that big Karl is getting a run for Takapuna tomorrow in the quarter final vs Massey.
Also of interest is the man named at number 6.....the one and only Adam Thomson
Heard through the grapevine that Karl had been suffering from meningitis, good that he's over that
Yeah he was pretty farked and out of action for a good few weeks. We saw him at A&E about 4 weeks ago and he looked toast
Very serious disease and the virulent form fatal if not diagnosed promptly.

Indeed
Wondering how the hell big Karl got afflicted in the 1st place
Meningitis is normally associated with kids

Not true. Used to see uni students get it on a semi regular basis back in the day. The odd fatality too

Anyone can get it, but the young and old tend to be hit more seriously because they have weaker immune systems.

A bit late to the party but my main concern over Reece is that I don’t really think he has been tested defensively this year against world class NH style 9 and 10s.
I think J Barrett is a bit lucky - he has more potential than Havili but he needs to dial back the costly errors.
I’ve said it all season, I reckon if he gets a chance Ennor will rapidly make him self a certainty for the RWC squad.
It’s a team that can retain the trophy but with big question marks over 6 and the midfield.
The conditions in japan should suit us as compared to dreary Europe in winter.

im thinking Japan may work in our favor more than has been talked about , you could probably include the rest of the SH sides in that too,
the way the NH sides have improved , might be a good thing for us , they are not playing at home
-
The hit Sevu Reece put on Solomon Alaimalo still makes me wince probably the tackle of the season.

Even though it’ll be warm (24-30), we also get a lot of rain (and some typhoons) that time of year.
If we get weather like that against SA, the game will be a lottery.

@Billy-Tell I wish Jordie would put away the behind the back pass. Hardly ever comes off.
