Hey I’m not arguing for Parker at all, just passing on what I heard from a pretty reliable source.

Wasn’t today either, was end of last week.

@Nepia I wasn't whining (I think I'm the only one who mentioned him). I was just expressing my disappointment. That's not the same thing.

I think he competes mostly with Jordie and Bridge, because he's first and foremost a fullback (at least at the Crusaders). I think Ennor is only there because Crotty isn't.

So how does that drop kick Aumua make the ABs when he has played like shit all season.

What makes him a drop kick ? having met him can confirm he seems a really nice joker with massive potential it's just a shame lineout throwing is part of the job description.

So, aside from the undroppable SBW, who's the luckiest fecker in the Squad, do you think?

How about who's the most unluggy poor bugger that missed out?

For me the luckiest forward is actually Matt Todd. He's a sader, so can't play the first game, and won't be going to Japan (outside of injuries to Ardie or Cane) - he's just another of the bloated number of loose forwards. We know he can cut it, and is first on the plane if injuries strike. I guess he's there cos Ardie has put in the time over SR, and doesn't need much more over RC. Backs it's Jordie, who has the ability to feck oop so badly as to lose us the cup - obviously an SBW who's highlights since RWC15 is a little good defence along with being injured often, a waste of a spot in the 7s team, and losing us the Lions tour is majorly lucky that the Wise Men believe his experience is so useful.

Unluggy would be Havili, better than Jordie but I guess isn't that 3rd 10 covering one RWC pool game for our 2 normal tens

Has Havili played any 10? Seems like he has the skillset.

Pretty happy with this squad, omit SBW and everyone is basically there on form.

Think Shag's comments indicate that if RC and Barrett (S) hadn't been injured squad would have been 41.

@pakman yeah 39+ Crots & Scooter = 41. That's the squad, two of them can't play for a bit tho.

@Machpants I don't think Todd is the luckiest forward and I think he'll go to the RWC, because with Squire gone, Ardie will be used as no. 8 cover and that is a good reason to take another 7 (with Cane able to play 6 as well).

Luckiest forward to me is Asafo Aumua, who benefits from not having a great third hooker.

Luckiest back is most definitely SBW. Yuck.

England were leading 15-0 til he went off and Crotty replaced him. Of course this could be coincidence.

Todd will edge Jacobson purely on experience, if Todd was the same age with the same experience as Jacobson the would surely pick Jacobson.

Luckiest back is Jordie. At least SBW has some runs on the board for the ABs unlike Jordie.

    Jordie B is well worth his spot Cover #10 #12 #13 #14 #15

    Havilli cover #12 and #15

Havilli is not as good a player as Jordie B so he'll have wait in line like Laumape for the 2020 team or hope someone gets injured to make 2019 RWC squad

No idea, we've got approx 32 6's in the squad, none with any real international experience, hopefully the selectors have an idea

I guess because Harris is liable to hit me in Australia when throwing into the lineout in Auckland.

All jokes aside Harris' throwing is still better than Aumua's.

If Ardie is going 8, I'd probably opt for Papali'i. Reckon they'll be looking hard at Frizzell and Hemopo though with Read playing the role he is these days. Jacobson to show he's a perfect bench man.

Both Jacobson and Papali'i can cover 7 as well as other positions, while Todd is only a 7. In a squad of 31 utilities become important.

BTW, Jacobson was listed as playing 7 for Hautapu last Sat.

@number9 Cos the AB selectors know more about selecting than you, I guess. He's been good, and has long term upsides. They're developing like they did Ardie, apprentice etc. he turned out alright in the end.

I hope one of those extended number of lose forwards stands up and grips the 6 position, cos there are tons of almost players there. It will be worse if none do cos then we may have an undercooked Squire pulled in. ALso I really hope SBW either totally owns it or totally stuffs up. As with 6, midfield is a mess and really needs time together - IMO ABs tests are not he place to bring a player up to speed. And SBW is well off pace, and Crotty out for entire RC - a mess.

Just what we need at a RWC, midfield conundrums - goes really well that.

That has got to the most piss weak arguement for a selection that I have ever read. Aumua has had a terrible season, Ardie was brilliant from the get go. No comparison it is like comparing a jet engine to your Morris Minor.

Anyone else you can mention before stooping to bringing up poor old Vaea Fifita ?
