@pakman which doesn't answer who you drop or how it changes things. Hindsight is beautiful.
Realise you're baiting, but I'll bite.
You're forcing me to think back. I think, contary to earlier in the thread, I alighted on AM instead of Ice in 23. Thought was that Luke (yellow card was a turning point) could cover 13, and if outside back injured Mils to move out.
As it turned out the net result, all things being equal, that when Luke moved to 10, AM would have been 12. Cue droppie.
Hart seemed too swayed by athleticism, and AM passed over.
The relevant point to this thread is that you always want in your 23 one midfielder with nous, and for this world cup RC or ALB need to be there in all the big games.

Hart? I assume you mean athleticism for the bench from Henry?
So basically what you're saying is that Mauger was the only player who would have overruled the other senior ABs and changed the plan to go for a droppy?

If youre a canes fan, warriors fan and black caps fan this weekend sucked. Spoiler alert: my weekend sucked.
Don't forget us Chiefs fans - we weren't even playing, also, I sat down to watch the Canes v Crusaders match on Friday and the game wasn't on, then I missed the start of the movie I was going to today because I was in the foyer watching those retard Warriors lose in extra time.
Spoiler alert: my weekend sucked too. -

Sorry, still haven't got over Cully at 13!
Overruled no, but word in shell like of Ritchie, yes.
But I'd of course wanted him on a bit before that ideally.
Water under the bridge now.

Congratulations on the dumbest argument on the sports forum in some time.
The distinction is very important

@mariner4life still scrolling to find the end to it.
-
@mariner4life I agree but they keeping going back to Crotty and SBW. I would like to see him given the 12 for the rugby championship.

@canefan yeah I should have explained it abit better slip of the finger the 2 kicks I admitted that
But my point being BB kick was easier from the left side than RM’s 2 from the right but some people couldn’t get their head around it or just don’t understand goal kickingOh fuck off. You said they were easy kicks, that he missed two easy kicks. It's as simple as that. It's got nothing to do with "some people" not understanding goal kicking. It's got to do with what you actually said.

Agree with the comments on Crotty from @pakman we looked so disorganised when he went off.
serious question, what does that say about the 10?

I should have written disorganised on defense ...
I griped earlier in the thread about how we started to hang off Barrett and Coles in the second half.
I don't think it's Richie's job to lead the defensive line.
-
@SammyC agree re Crotty going off. I am a big fan of Goodhue but if I have one criticism of him it is at this stage of his career he seems to be just a role player, a very good one, but I haven't seen him take a game or other players by the scruff of the neck and lead the way. I am hoping that will come as he gets older. Anyone have any insights on his personality? Has he shown leadership through the age grades?

okay, that is totally fair, i didn't realise that's what we were talking about. Did it bring about a complete reshuffle, with Goodhue moving in one? Because they looked lost, completely lost.
The attack lost all shape as well though. Their possessions late in the game turned in to one off bash ups. Which committed Hurricanes defenders were just eating up. Not sure the video session today will be pretty viewing for a few guys.

he was Captain of the NZ U20 side wasnt he?
I expect maybe it is an age thing, confidence in amongst all the older guys and with Crotty 'leading' the backline? But still, you'd hope he would be able to step up when needed.
Hopefully saders will be working on the JG-Ennor mid-field in anticipation of no Crotty, because the defensive alignment and even comms was poor.

Brad Mooar told me he's a future long term Crusaders captain.
Agree tho, we look a bit lost on defense with him at 12 and Ennor at 13.
