Thanks, 4 tries canes, 2 wolves according to ESPN
Penalty from the scrum.
-
Glad we got the W but man that was a painful watch for most of the game.
-
Being 23-7 down you put yourself in that situation where even if you fight back to take the lead, the other team can still snatch it by a lucky try. All Blacks have put themselves in that position too many times in the past few years. Credit to the Sunwolves for taking their points when they had their opportunities. Unfortunately, a lack of bonus points is probably going to cost us on the final ladder.

Thanks, so with our poor forward pack, no Barrett's or Ardie, we really struggled? Or just an off day?
I'll watch the replay tomorrow
It was more the handling errors which were punished by the Sunwolves gaining 50 metres in the first half and some bad decisions on attack.

What was the deal with gardner telling them they had to take the lineout at the end there? Surely if time is up and you tap it and kick it out then it is game over. Doesn’t matter when you blew the penalty. Tapping it = game back on.
He had a few weird calls in this game. Pinging the Canes for offside from a non existent knock on when Parker was a mile offside chasing back was an obvious one.Bench made a huge difference. Time to start guys like Aumua and IWL.

Hats off to TJP and Goosen, both of whom had very good games. Aumua beginning to deliver at this level on his potential. Otherwise wasn,'t great from the Hurricanes. I think the Hurricanes will make the playoffs but that pack is too weak this year to get anywhere near the final.
Parker was excellent for the Sunwolves. Hopefully someone will offer him a NPC contract for 2019 as he has All Blacks World Cup potential.
Great to see a full house and a noisy crowd in Tokyo for this one. Bodes well for a small Rugby tournament coming their way in five months time.

That was fair dinkum, IMO. Otherwise he could have penalised us for time wasting.

Which would have been ridiculous because every other penalty in the game was given plenty of time to be taken. I just don’t see how he can add extra time on after the hooter if they had decided to tap it. What if they tapped and ran to the other side of the field?
He has a history of not knowing when to end the game. I think it was a Highlanders v Brumbies game where he wanted to keep playing on but had to be convinced. -
@sparky if guys like Coles, Fidow, Evans stay
injury free for the rest of the campaign we should
look alot better. I think the problem for the Canes
atm, especially with that forward pack last night
is the lack of firepower. Armstrong, Riccitelli, May, Blackwell, Prinsep and Mitchell aren't going to be
opening defences up with their dynamic play as they
are all very 1 dimensional. If you add in Coles, Evans
and Ardie then the whole balance of the pack
changes and we can start to play ball which will
provide more space for our outsides. I'd also like
to see IWL start, not only does he bring size,
but he also has alot of x factor about him.
