It will be interesting to see who will get the nod as the starting THP after the RWC, with long serving Owen Franks off to Northampton.
Ofa-T and Laulala are the obvious choices but I think Tyrell Lomax could be the man. He has made a lot of progress this year and looks like a young Carl Hayman. His physicality cannot be questioned and he is not subject to brain explosions as Ofa-T is.
And there is Atu Moli. How will he recover from his injuries is the big question.

I don't think he's up to it in the beard growing department

And does he have the height to weight to play number 8?

They are shaping to give the 2012 class of debutants a lot of money going into their 9-12 AB seasons. I'm not sure some of these are wise investments if funds are low; particularly Coles, Smith and if Beauden is asking top dollar in the country.

I'm fascinated by how they try to work out the value of the contracts they offer to these players. BBBR must be more valuable than Whitelock, but how about Barrett versus Mounga? Personally, I be putting a bit of money in front of Goodhue right now too.

I 100% agree with Angus, but Atu Moli has done absolutely nothing to warrant selection. Lomax is not the inform THP, Laulala is looking good.

Hansen (and Henry before him) really saw the value of grizzled veterans. I think the blend of half vets, and half enthusiastic youth is a tried formula.

On another note, it's great to see quality new faces popping up in every Super campaign. Will Jordan, Tom Robinson - and others - who could easily transition to the top level over the next few years.

If, and it's a big if, cane makes the cup he starts, ardie will be on the bench. Outside that I've no idea EDIT: and Read at 8 obviously. Ardie might be the 7 instead of Cane if he had performed like the last game, in the game before vs the Crusaders.

That’s just cruel to tease me like that. Would be a dominant back row for sure.

No comment. I've already been banned enough times this month. Although the inclusion of the once apparently absolutely shit A Savea makes me chuckle.

And SBW is badly broken again. Six weeks with knee surgery. His chances of making the RWC squad are looking increasingly slim.

How many games of rugby has SBW actually played in the past 15 months?

Five for the ABs (in at least one of which he hobbled off early), two or three for the Blues this year, not many for the Blues last year?

    A dozen?

@Chester-Draws assuming they are open about it just being arthroscopy, this is not a major surgery and could well be back up and running in a couple of weeks.

As a non-elite athlete, I was back playing to my high level 4 weeks post arthroscopy.

I think badly broken is overstating it. It’s minor surgery that will sideline him for about a month.

Blues head coach Leon MacDonald said: "Whatever he decides to do and puts his mind to, he sort of makes happen. If he still wants to keep playing later on he's the sort of guy you would never write off.
"He's a pretty determined guy and this year he really wants to make the World Cup squad and be a part of that. So he's pretty driven to make sure he recovers well from this and gets back on the field."
