@Tim Courtney channeling his inner Wellingtonian. Basta is now not just chunky, like a pro prop, but fat.

Well, if SBW puts on an extra 10-20 kg's....

Sure, Slade , Daly and Nowell are very good rugby players, but they need big guys to get stuck in and do the work up front first.

So... you've just described threequarters? ;0)

It's weird that Itoje gets all the plaudits and starting spots yet Lawes is the better performer.

yea i don't get it at all. Especially when you look at the way they have Itoje playing, i think Lawes would do that better. There must be something there i don't see.

Maybe a NH poster who watches them week out in club rugby can give us some insight?

As well as the already mentioned very important criteria there is also the perception that Lawes used to fade in and out of games whereas Itoje can keep up the level of shouting throughout the full 80 minutes and indeed play some rugby during that time. Itoje also seems to have a bit more grunt in the tight. Luckily for us we are blessed at 2nd row and in reality can perm any two from perhaps six without losing too much.

Itoje's invisibility cloak on the offside line is a big help as well. He forgets to hand it over to Lawes.

That was certainly the case against your boys last Autumn, so don't forget to say thank you to Maro if you see him!

@Catogrande depends if he's wearing the cloak or not, innit.

@Crucial he played a good couple of games worth Vs Ireland. But England without their prime PI power is a different prospect. And those bastards are so overworked, no way they'll make it through the RWC

Just to make sure, Eddie will announce Tim Kerrison will be joining them to revolutionise their training for that extra 1.3%

All of a sudden Mako is outpacing international wingers.
