@baron-silas-greenback And for the record I have spoken to someone who has played with and against Warner about the very topic of sledging and abuse. And he is indeed pretty feral. Off the field he is apparently a bloody nice guy and less arrogant than most of his teamates. But nothing more than a number of other players. He just gets pumped on the field and crosses the line more often than others.
The reaction to him over this is disgusting and more feral than Warner.Oh good. He's a nice bloke away from cricket. That makes his on field behaviour ok then...
I'm sure we all have aspects of our lives where we act differently in different situations.
I'm sure some people can be really really nice when they're not posting on internet forums.
Where has anyone said that it his on field behaviour is ok?? Dont make stuff up and then argue agsint it. I said his on field behaviour is feral, and think comments about his off field personal life are low.
I agree about posting on forums . Just look at some of the ugly comments about his wife I highlighted.... keyboard warriors indeed.Fair enough.
I was curious as to why you'd bring up his off field personality. Didn't seem relevant to his ban.

I can understand where the Warner is a good bloke chat comes from.
Most of us would have a mate who is a top bloke but turns into a total knob playing Monopoly or don’t ask him about topic X after he has had a few drinks in him.
Even in lower grade cricket in Aus and I imagine in NZ also, every team has a couple of over-competitive dickheads on the field who the others tolerate. The difference is off the field they are accountants or brickies and relatively normal blokes, Warner is a dickhead professionally.

His delivery was better. Bancroft seemed quite believable until you saw him putting all that sugar in his pocket a while back. Now you wonder how long they've been actually cheating for

His decision to hold a press conference. If he (and Smith) wanted to simply to read a prepared speech, he could have had someone record it on their phone. Or have the transcript provided to the press. But if you want to use the fourth estate to resurrect your playing career or earning capacity in the future, don't forget it's a two way street...

I only caught a couple of minutes... All I saw was him saying he was sorry about the consequences of his actions. So basically saying he's sorry he got caught? Pretty honest.
Yup is he sorry...
For doing the wrong thing?
Doing the wrong thing and getting caught ?
Or doing the wrong thing, getting caught and losing millions of dollars ?
