@kiwimurph my thinking is that - if we had to make a choice of kicking teams out - the comp was a lot better off with a stopover game from/to South Africa than with teams like the Sunwolves and Jaguares adding SFA except travel. Though it does help the remaining four Oz teams in the short run.

For on field competitiveness the best option would be a pacific islands side - if you could make the finances work.

I thought he had a poor game - bad one-on-one misses and some tits for hands. He has talent though.
I like Boshier's work too so I expect him to stay at 6. Ardron is bloody athletic so looks a great option off the bench.

The Sunwolves haven't improved much from past seasons, for some reason I've heard the media saying that they have(probably because JJ and Brown are coaching them), but the way they've gone this year is no different to the last two years.
If you look at their results in their first two years compared to this year, there is barely any difference in their trend of results - it's basically an even split of close losses and blowout losses. Last year they actually ran the Chiefs close.

Absolutely.
It's been in the rule book for a century. Handing the ball to a person in front of you is a forward pass. It does not matter that it never leaves contact.
In general play it's two offences as a team mate in front of the ball player is offside, and liable for penalty, so taking part in play by touching the ball is definitely out.

Absolutely.

I think it has been tidied in the new law book. 'pass' includes handing the ball.
You cannot deliberately make a forward pass (which it must be if the player is in front). Even if it is touch and go and the ref won't rule as deliberate the there is the option of offside. Both are penalty offences.Edit: I guess there is also the option of accidental offside resulting in a scrum (like a normal forward pass) - probably the fairest option

@dice Sunwolves are going to improve unless they can get some alignment with/help from, the Japanese Top League.
As for TTT he was excellent but it was a game perfectly suited to his game - be nice to see him push for more gametime against decent opposition.

Oh FFS, did it go forward from Leitch to try scorer? Yes, because the try scorer was in front of Leitch when he received the ball. If you don't think that is clear and obvious you can borrow my -9 contact lenses if you like.
Was it the worst non call ever? Sheesh, we all use a little hyperbole on the fern.
And we all know the real "worst non call ever" even if it happened in a game otherwise expunged from our memories.
