That was an impressive 1st half. Was impressed they stayed in the match late second half. That was really when the saders missed whitelock and crotty. Good to see savea hunger and working hard

Pretty good game. Hurricanes started bloody welland the Crusaders did well to come back.
Jordie looked bloody good. That penalty from near halfway and on the angle was a thing of beauty.
Is it just me or has he bulked up a bit?
Both Saveas looked good. Jules looked busy and Ardie put in some big tackles.
Lam showed great gas for that try.
Goodhue was good for Saders. Would also like to see him get lotsof AB time this year. Crotty is glass.

Canes front row (props) are their major weakness also think Fifita is wasted at lock.

Have been noticing a lot this year that the rucks are a mess. Guys off their feet playing the ball, players not releasing tackled players and guys flying off their feet cleaning out. Are the refs ignoring everything because they are concentrating on the new laws at the ruck?

Crusaders threw the game away in the first 10 minutes with a succession of penalties gifting possession and territory and eventually points - along with losing Crotty and Whitelock.

Had a chance to come back but too many costly mistakes.

Goodhue was excellent - Havili pretty good, couldn't do much about Lam. Alaalatoa perhaps the best of the forwards along with Taufua.

Not eligible yet I think. Very Aussie eligible as he's an Aussie.

Alaalatoa will be eligible from August-September as he started playing Mitre 10 Cup for the Turbos in 2015.

He's not eligible for Aussie if he's not playing in Aussie.

I'll take that win every day of the week, Canes did well to stay composed and hang on when the Saders came back strong in the 2nd 40.

The succession of penalties in the first 10 - 15 minutes really gave the Canes a leg up, and the Saders losing Whitelock in particular was crucial - a good team like the Canes will always capitalise on that.

Overall two very evenly matched teams, result could really go either way on the night. Very pleased we got over the line in our first NZ derby, as that loss to the Bulls first up was frustrating as hell.

Thought the gulf in class would be bigger with our injuries, not too disappointed with the fight but too many errors.

Both Crotty and Whitelock's knocks looked bad. let me be the first to say both players are fucking key to the Crusaders this year, not good news.

Bitch fluffybunny didn't embarrass himself against The World's Most Expensive Player, kicking for territory was pretty average for both teams but Barrett was underwhelming.

We'll take that considering the third-rate roster and random ref and feral crowd, could have been a lot worse.

Had a crap view at the Cake Tin, sitting very high up, so need to watch the game again on tv. The Barretts looked all class, JSavea looked much better than ... since ages ago. Tight five a bit disappointing. I couldn't see which Canes player it was, but one of them got a lot of attention from the medics a few times during the game.

So we now know where the limits of the Crusaders are: lose Moody, Franks, Read and Dagg, and they still win. Also lose Mo'unga, Crotty and Whitelock, and they get into trouble against good teams. Mind you, the old dog Romano had to play for 72 minutes tonight. Hunt is talented, but not even close to Mo'unga's level yet. Taufua, Goodhue and Havili were very good. Can't remember who it was, but one of the Saders players was limping quite a bit for the last 20 minutes or so.

Not eligible yet I think. Very Aussie eligible as he's an Aussie.

He's not eligible for Aussie if he's not playing in Aussie.

Then he's not currently available for either then - but my point being is that he's eligible for Australia by birth yet he's a poach for us.

Brodie Retallick is a Crusader? When did that happen?

(Yeah, I know he won an award in 2017. Oscar for Best Film 2017 went to Moonlight. Awards don't mean shit.)

The Saders have lost 5 on the trot at the Caketin. Injuries obviously hurt, but that's not the only reason they lost - they really struggle to win in Wellington.

@kiwimurph Don't upset the baby please.

Good effort from both sides I thought. It doesn't matter how many you lead the Crusaders by with whatever side they have on you know that you're never safe. Well done to the Canes managing to hold on after a long road trip.
