ABs v Scotland

That last try was a splendid effort by Scotland, the sort of thing you have the young fellas sit down and study and understand why it came off - running wide with confidence, players backing up all over the place, a most excellent short range grubber kick (one of the most under-valued, under-used but efective tools in the modern game) made with thought and purpose and it lifted them fabulously well. Good stuff!

If you are going to box kick so much - why not pick Duffie on the wing over Naholo.
Naholo is quite good at chasing them. Plus you can get Naholo into a situation where he can get a turnover.

@stargazer Watching it head on showed there were white jumpers closest to him on each quarter behind him, between him and his support. If the pass is not on you die with the ball and go again, don't you?

We would have been annihilated today by a team more clinical in the 'red zone'. Some of their handling when hot on attack was deer in headlights stuff. 95% of the Scots play was magnificent.
Scots could have been 15-20 points up before we even woke up.

That interception by Hogg when we were putting in the final pass to dot down under the post. Whoever was that support runner (Cane?) give yourself an uppercut now, and next time give your self 2m of depth.
Unnecessarily flat supporting line butchers another try.

Our defence was so passive all night. Has been pretty poor all year as well.
Our defence was incredible tonight - seriously. We missed less tackles than Scotland even though we had to make 100 more.
.They made a lot of ground pretty easily. We lacked line speed. Yeah our tackling was good but had Scotland been more clinical, they would have scored a couple more tries.

I’d love to know who these ‘more clinical in the red zone’ teams are. I’ve watched every tier 1 and most tier 2 test teams this year and can say there aren’t many around.....

An unexpected bonus is the fabulous Zinzan Brooke as part of the Pommie commentary, doing a very competent job. That would be the first time I have seen him in action since he went around, and held his place, among the best batch of back rowers the All Blacks have seen.
