But in seriousness - it sounds like he was within his rights, just unnecessary, and more blowing of smoke. Insisting on a 2nd warm-up round... and then spending half of that time in a huddle having a chat? -

Meanwhile - I assume the ABs were smart enough to do "warm-ups" in the semi-dark, and "drills" once the lights were on.
