Throwing the ball away after penalties, diving off their feet at rucks, living offside, not rolling away from the tackled player, spear tackling defenders at the ruck, pulling back players off the ball.
    Plenty of examples.

In fairness, I think the Lions might have been guilty of one or two of those as well.....

How could you tell? Or do the red invisibility cloaks only work on refs?

That comeback was nearly as bad as Laidlaw's passing...

Being at have stadium. Now reading the thread while waiting for a bus.

It's funny. The last thing in my mind is the ref,and what decisions went what way, and what copious amounts of (apparently) unseen offences didn't go which way.

    It was throughly entertaining.

With some genuine getting in the refs back as a home crowd should but 90% blindly hopeful getting on his back in a hopeful way.

Tv and slo mos are the rugby viewers curse. Won't stop me on Saturday though ...... as I don't have tickets for tbe blissful distant live view.

You're a good fan MtS, you show up rain or shine, and I'm impressed you keep your cool. You are the one Welsh supporter who doesn't go mad in every game (including one of my best mates who introduced me to my wife). Next time you come through Tokyo, let me know and I'll buy you a beer 🙂

Dammit. They should have snatched that at the end. Pity that stupid first try.

Jordie should backup Beauden at 10. He shits on Black.

After nearly proclaiming the BB could walk on water in a post earlier today I now conclude you're the black sheep Barrett uncle shipped of to Oz.

    Wtf are you talking about?

I was just referencing you're a big fan of the Barrett brothers after you were talking up BBs high ball ability and defence - plus you have a pic of BB as your avatar.

I've made absolutely no secret of my fanboism. What has that got to do with what I wrote? Are you upset about me saying that JB is much better than Black?

Interesting on the bench discussion. I noticed JTA was still on at a scrum at 70 mins.

If gats not subbing, then Boyd no subbing?

No, I was just referencing your not secret fanboism (which I thought was in a jocular way but clearly you've taken it another way) - Black had a poor game, but he's from the Canes and the Poo so I'm not going to white knight him.

Aargh! How to throw away a game when it's in your pocket. Soft card for Henderson - right call but a soft manner in which to spend 10 minutes resting. Barnes for once called something correctly in the lack of shutting down the space for the first Canes try during the sinbinning. In a 14 point game making the conversion harder is bloody important. Soft again. A beautifully worked try though, worth the price of admission all on its own.

I thought Poite was OK, not great but not shithouse either and more importantly I thought he was impartial in his more elastic calls.

@Mikethesnow re Joseph's form. Difficult for him or any of the outsides to shine with the disruption caused by Henshaw's injury. No cover at 12 that Gatland was prepared to use meant that the 11, 13, 14 boys got very little opportunity. It also left North with less opportunity to press his claims at wing. Mind you I'm not sure that any of Joseph, Nowell or Seymour are in Gatland's thinking anyway.

The whole geographical selection thing has to my mind come back to bite Gatland in the arse. He has to have them on the bench to justify the decision but is petrified of actually playing them because it was the wrong decision in the first place. Rock and a hard place, just of his own making is all.

I'm not sure Best has done quite enough to push for a place in the 23 and neither did the props. The interesting selection area will be the second row. You could see Gatland's thinking in having a good look at Lawes and then subbing on Kruis to see if he's got back into some form after Saturday's lacklustre performance and then Henderson goes and puts in a stand out performance. It is quite possible that both the starting locks for the first test are out of the 23 altogether.

Back row will also be interesting. Did Stander do enough and if so who misses out. I think the back row selection will feature the same four as the first test but maybe a bit mixed up.

In the backs, North put his hand up albeit out of position but after that I'm failing to see anyone pressing their claim for a spot in the 23.

But not quite as bad as Irelands record against the ABs. Boom tish.

Where is @Tim with his Blues recruitment plans...

Normally I heart Boyd, but IMHO his claim that Jordie is a fullback is bollocks. He doesn't have the acceleration or, for want of a better word, dexterity, to be a world class FB. But he has the size, pass and skill to be an excellent 12 or 13.

I hate to say it, but it might be a shame that he didn't choose the Saders.

I think it's more a case of getting him on the field to get him experience whilst still a youngster. He's a skillful player and given he has a good boot, fullback isn't a bad place. Anything coaches say these days is taken with a massive grain of salt.

Plus the fullback options for the Canes are slim other than playing one of the wingers (NMS, Jane) out of position.

Midfield there is Laumape, Proctor and Aso. Aso a better winger but there are two ABs there with Savea and NMS.

For sure. That's why he might have benefited more at the Saders. He most likely would have had much more game time at 12. He also already had a very successful partnership with Goodhew.

It's just frustrating to see a guy play in the wrong position.

@Tim some of Loe's criticisms of the Lions could equally be labeled towards the Canes. In particular the first 20-30 minutes the Canes were lying on the Lions sides at the breakdown when Lions had possession. Slowed ball up quite a bit.
