apparently , once they assembled into AB training , coaches were a bit blown away with reikos pace first hand in drills etc, '
Easily the quickest in the squad now they say , quicker than BB
That's probably what got him the start against Jules. In a tight test with limited space that extra yard of pace can make all the difference, and so it proved. Our coaches are fucking rugby geniuses.
He doesn't look like he has the build to trample guys like the Bus.
If he is actually quicker than BB I'd be pretty shocked.
Two things.
- Why would you be shocked he was quicker than BB? Did you not see pull away for his second try last night.
- Have you not actually seen him? He's big. He's probably nearly Savea's size (less chubby in the cheeks though). He's physical.
He looks pretty slim to me compared to Savea. I saw all he did too. We all know how freakishly quick BB is, I'd just find it really surprising if Ioane was even quicker that's all.
Muscle v fat maybe (Ducks for cover).

It's not Saveas fault he lives so close to Kilbirnie KFC

reckon they need to call Jane into trainings this week to give our backs some lessons in defusing bombs!
OUr best back last night under the highball was BB!

Haven't read the thread yet.
Williams had some good moments and credit to his defence, but hold onto the fucken ball you numbnuts. Put severe pressure on the ABs with turnovers at times.
Cruden was pretty lacklustre.
A Smith was there for his passing - really disappointing to see him completely wreck a couple of crucial opportunities with super shit passing.
ALB looked quite lost at times.
Locks and loosies were brilliant.
Taylor needs to sort his throwing, those were 2 big lineouts before he got yanked.
Peyper with some odd calls around the tackle. What the fuck was that when McGrath is crawling along the ground after being tackled twice and then the ABs get penalised? Otherwise well reffed.
I wonder if the NH media will stop with the rubbish around scrum dominance now?
Overall, thought the ABs played pretty ordinary, which is comforting - we can improve a lot.
Fuck. No wonder we lost ... oh hang on ...
BTW your glass is the half empty one over there ...
Did you see my score prediction and post prior to the game?
I maintain the ABs have a LOT more improvement in them and that yesterday were pretty average for large parts. Did you see the size of some of the gaps the lions went skipping through?
-
@KiwiMurph slightly easier to run without a ball than with, and I expect BB probably thought, hey, no fucker can catch me now so I'll ease back a bit....
But proper testing, when BB reckosn he is quicker, cant complain about that!

Well colour your surprised then. The boy is quick.
I have no problems with his physicality. If you watched rugby then you will have seen him power through 4 Lions players to the try line in the Blues v Lions match.

That would mean I'd have to get sky again and from @Virgil s rant earlier on that sounds like I'd be assailed with ads and end up buying a Hyundai. Seems like too much hassle.

I don't mind Marshall as a commentator but he never fully grasps all the laws. It must be at least 3 years that halfback hands on ball = not out of the ruck. So Franks very much mistimed his tackle on Murray.

Watching the lions try again, was that Te'o blocking Williams?
It was worth a second look at least. I didn't notice it at the time but I saw it on replay this morning. Can't blame the officials for missing it.

The problem i had with that one was that the 9 was the one that was over the ball making it 'not out' yet was given the protection the halfback gets before he picks it up. Either he is halfback, not part of the ruck and the ball is out or he is part of the ruck meaning the ball isn't out and he is fair game to be cleaned out.

That's not how World Rugby sees it though. Halfback hands on ball on ground at back of ruck => tackled/cleaned out => penalty every time.

Pumpkin soup?
Sounds like a Southland night in.

@MN5 go back in this thread, there is a link to an article where BB says he (Ioane) had beaten him in the sprint testing earlier that day.
Heard TJP saying BB quicker over 50. RI quicker over 100

Nothing to see there. SBW was covering wide and Teo just standing still. Only SBW changes direction when he realised the pass wasn't coming.

mes our kick chase was disjointed.
I was just responding to above criticism with some saying that was Reads fault, some said Crudens.
Cruden's fault was to kick away a ball that had to be recycled.

Mark Reason continually trolls and makes snide comments and then wonders why the kiwis who have the misfortune to know him contact him gloating about the result. Instead of dwelling on the fact that despite him living here for a number of years he still regarded as an outsider and asking himself why that is he decides that the problem is not with him it's the kiwis .
Sure it is mate.
