Russell and Davies are both there or there abouts, so fair enough (would rather Davies than Laidlaw any day). The rest are a joke. If geography is an issue and you always planned this, why not call up the best guys available 3 or 4 days earlier and give time to get over jet lag?
Even if you limit yourself to Wales and Scotland, I'm not sure how Dacey and Hill got in ahead of Brown and Gray

Word on the street is the Welsh boys trained with the Lions in Wales when a large number of the squad were still involved in club competitions.
So know the system and calls etc.
They're not the best Welsh players, Davies aside, because Wales have Samoa next weekend.
They'll be ready to train tomorrow (Sunday), the Scots won't.
And I also heard that Eddie said no players would leave the England camp until the Tests were done. So that rules out Launchbury and Ford. Even though they should have gone in the first place.
-
You got a link to Eddie saying he wouldn't release England players until after the tests? Find that hard to believe, but happy to be proved wrong.
Regardless of knowing the calls I reckon Launchbury would make a better fist of the midweek games than Hill. It's done now though so no point moaning, but Gatland better win a test or two, or this sort of thing is likely to be what's remembered.

Rumour mill. Fake news.

That
is a car crash.Has Steve Hanson said anything that bad ?
I ve heard him speak about them , but it seems to be when he has been asked a question about what he expects from them , or how he thinks they are going
-

Twittish obviously set up question from the journo

Maybe it's about Hansen's predictions about Gatland "calling in the cavalry"?

Seeing as Gatland said before the tour that he was like to add to the squad, not that much of a prediction!

Tuned in to watch the last few mins of Argie v England, and then listened to Monye, Moore and Guscott whine about England players being snubbed and not being included in Gatland's recent call-ups. Did their best to gloss over that this could create some discord within the current Lions squad.
TBH I thought they had a point. Launchbury, Hartley, Brown could have easily slotted in and there is an argument whether they are actually better than their counterparts in the current squad. -
@Bones Ok, went and listened up to "Hansen has been doing a lot of press conferences lately".
No shit, he is the head coach of a rugby team that is about to enter the biggest three game series of his coaching era, in a country that is a tad crazy about the sport.
In a way I understand people critizing Hansens behaviour, if you take some things he says, out of context, he comes across as arrogant, but when you listen full interviews, and understand he has won everything that has come his way, he isn't arrogant, he is entitled to say basically what he likes.
And this 'two teams' thing he said, remember when Hansen picked the Wallabies midfield last year? He is getting exactly the same response, which he probably expected. This is just my view of him tho, someone will probably disagree, but the way he handles the media and the opposition is second to none.

Yes, with the possible exception of Gareth Davies.Would they - especially the forwards - be able to train Sunday and Monday in preparation for Tuesday?
NoCould Gatland have called players up prior to the weekend Tests?
YesWould this have undermined the Home Nations clean sweep of victories?
Definitely
