BB back to playing like a debutante with no idea about options and the occasional glimpse of skill.
back to?
I think it was his last game he looked mostly accomplished as a super rugby player.

The Blues kicked off this season largely disregarding the attacking DNA they developed en route to the title last season, but are now rediscovering that playstyle.
Having set the tone in 2024 by carrying a competition-high 135 times per game, the Blues managed to top that number tonight with some devastating pick-and-go rugby. You know when Finlay Christie steps back from the action that play is about to get physical, and that’s exactly what happened at Eden Park.
The Blues chewed through 139 carries against the Hurricanes and had some of their best moments of the season with the ball in hand.

@Duluth those are awesome thank you.
big game from IWL too.Yeah but no point doing all that when a brain explosion pretty much costs your team a victory.

He's a frustrating - could have been - player to me, can be very solid and then suddenly..
Interested why some Canes fans still don't like Kirifi - he's not as red-rag as he used to be, is he?

@Duluth great stats - where you getting them from? And do you have ruck speed? Last years blues were clearing a lot of their rucks in 3 secs. Not going any wider this year but slower in my eyes. This year it’s often been Dalton on his own over the ball and as a result slower ruck speed.

The stats aren't on a website or anything that is freely available. I'll post stuff that people request
Ruck speed? More like last year in this game. Akira has been a massive loss and Hoskins hasn't got on the field often enough. I think most of the ruck issues have been late in games when other poor tactics/performances have tired out the pack (shit short kicking, weight of possession from bad lineouts, errors and penalties)
Blues on the left, Canes on the right

Massive. He did a lot around the field, even if people didn't see it. Huge defensively as well.
Has he what! We've gone soft without him. Teams smash us in close now. It was evident last year when we played the Reds with him not there that we're worse off without him and this year has proved that.
If there was one guy we could not have afforded to lose, it was him.
@Duluth great stats. How close is Beehre to an ABs callup? All the hype is with Holland, but this guy goes under the radar and has been our best this year.

Similar player to Barrett but a bit taller. I think he should be close. His workrate is very high for a lock
