Always thought the most likely franchise he would end up at if he returned home would be MP.

i don't think it's accurate to say Razor changed his mind on the eligibility, he always just wanted a broader case-by-case approach where guys who'd gotten say 30 or more caps (ie Mo'unga) & been playing in Super for many seasons prior would be given special exemptions to still represent ABs while playing over in Japan, no?

Thought he approached Faingaanuku too, plus Frizzell. Not sure your narrative fits.

Frizell does for that criteria though.

I think the Fainga’anuku situation was different and more about getting him home/asking the age old question of why a young player had left etc.

There some comments from Robertson about overseas players. Sounds like he has been told to pull his head in. Lots of his usual management jargon but basically his fine with the current setup

He's a bit dim so I expect him to push for overseas players agin in a few months.. get told off.. reiterate his support for the current system.. repeat..

    Peace in our time….

Scott Robertson changes mind on All Blacks eligibility, backs NZ Rugby's stance

Scott Robertson has thrown his support behind NZ Rugby's stance of not selecting players based overseas.

Cool. He can now concentrate on developing the talent available to him. Just hope he hasn't wasted a year.

On different matter, got interesting message today that Caleb Tangitau, is going to seriously push for a AB spot, he's had contact with coaches already.

He deserves to be looked at for sure.

“There’s always a degree of contact but that’s good coaches and good people doing their jobs properly. That happens with players that are past their playing careers. That’s the nature of the All Blacks

so, talk to guys overseas not eligible. Don't talk to guys in NZ who are eligible. Good coaching. Gotcha

Robertson's the guy whose girlfriend dumped him and he can't get over it and annoys all his mates by moping and constantly going on about her and how much he misses her.

Meanwhile said mates secretly don't understand what he saw in her in the first place.

'Hell of a player': All Blacks coach fans Ponga flames

All Blacks coach Scott Robertson is keeping the door open for Kalyn Ponga to make a bombshell code switch ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup.

@SBW1 be realistic for goodness sakes. let's see Ruben Love start a test, have a look at the Chiefs midfield together, see if Caleb Tangitau can step up, is Taumoefolau from Moana aspiring to be an AB? Plenty of talent on these shores but next thing you will be asking for is to see Nicoll-Klokstad at the Crusaders

DMac has every right to be hard done by at Razor's man-love for Richie. (and to lesser extent BB)
Our best game this year was against Ireland. when DMac controlled the game well.
And then, for some god-forsaken reason, he selects Mr Shovel it on kick and hope Beauden Barret for the French game.

Mounga was given the luxury of 4-5 years at AB level 10 to develop his game.
And for most of that, he couldn't fuckin tackle.
