Laidlaw has to wait decades to be nominated alongside two chicks who have been playing for five minutes.

Congratulations to Tyrell Lomax, Damian McKenzie and Will Jordan on being named to World Rugby's Men Dream XV of 2024:

A mix of the obvious, arguable and laughable.

One of the times it's gone to the right player. Well deserved.

Well Kennedy at 170 at least played in the 90s, 167, 168 and 169 only played this century to beat him in.

When he played he certainly had his hand up.

Pollard is prob who id pick, but he got less game time than DMac. Finn Russell worth a shout too.

You can't expect them to actually analyze and look deeply into performance for this sort of thing, do you? 7 on his back means openside, basics 🙄

Team of the year is an interesting one. I think narratives take hold more than objective performance.

Lots of rotation, some countries being so poor, it would be hard to put one single player in. In the 6N Ireland hammered France, who then phoned in their tour while Dupont stayed in Paris. And then Ireland won a test in SA. If anything, not enough Boks. They’re that far ahead.

Guess 10 was D-Mac vs Finn.

Whatever criticisms there are of Jordan, he has lit it up the highlight reel and would probably start for anyone.

Sititi could have gone in ahead of Matera, he’s been that good.

    Don’t mind it too much.

But definitely not ahead of the best blindside.

I would have Albornoz and M Smith (despite his apparent tackling inability) ahead of him

@Bones I agree with that, apart from the 'once respected honour', it's always been a bit bullshit and based off the last few games (esp RWC years)

I’ll try. He was sensational in the Olympics 7s final almost single handedly winning it for France. Along with their swimmer, he was the face of the Olympics.

Really don’t think it’s a major shock tbh.

Yeah but you’ve always been biased against the Scots.

You’d sneak a few Welshmen in ahead of them if you had a chance 😉
