@Bones the Chay Fihaki selection beggers belief but i guess Razors sees something many of us cant see..
Personally i would rather they pushed Reiko out to wing and ALB into centre as opposed to pushing Fihaki onto the wing or better still AJ Lam
Of all Razors selections Fihaki and Bell grate me the mostThey will go for Reece no doubt. Like you, I don't know what they see in Fihaki. Naholo or Stevenson are better choices imo.
Naholo is likely injured.
Regardless, it's pretty unlikely any of the new guys called up will see any minutes - they're tackle bag holders.

Wha'ts the status of EB and Dalts? Both still injured? And with the squad?
The ABs kept DP on the same RTP rehab program for a cpl week's when hes felt he should've progressed quicker.
Hasn't been getting much coms & been left in the dark. Razors basically ghosted him.
He had a feeling a cpl week's ago he wouldn't be going over. -

Got a feeling France will be much tougher than Ireland,
Hope we are well grounded, sleeves rolled up and not on too much of a high feeling good about ourselves after that win
For me this is the test that I was a little concerned about before the tour started.
I had a feeling we would lift for Ireland, there were positive signs of us targeting that one because the build up would be bigger with their home record and rivalry. .
Having caught up on some of the recent NH media/commentary of the last few weeks, I’m a little surprised at how much they talk up Dupont. Very good player no doubt, but it has been a little OTT. There will be opportunities around the fringes with the way France attack to disrupt and unsettle him.
But France will present challenges with their forward carry. It’s different to how the Boks set up but just as effective in my view. I think we need to start Cane (if he is fit) because the close exchanges will be where a lot of this game may be played.
The biggest thing is trust in the bench. It’s been a work in progress. I’m hopeful that if Taylor and Barrett are back that we see continued improvement around timing and how to actually change the game. There’s been some good recent signs but I think it can get better.

@ACT-Crusader Dupont is so far and away the best player in the world right now - he's an absolute freak. Pretty much everything he touches turns to gold.
The one caveat is that he's only a couple of months back into playing international XVs, but that's not really a massive issue.

@ACT-Crusader Have you heard how much Cam Roigard is talked up on here? I may be wrong, but I reckon he's started 3 tests, against Uruguay, Namibia, and Japan.

This would make no sense at all, Dalton's body language is always first-rate.

On both sides of the ball?

I don’t pay much attention to that, but then again non of the polish girls on the Fern are on TV getting paid to say such things….
-
And I just read that Sam Cane and MT are out.
Looks like Reece will be back and we could see the loose forward trio that ended the match against Ireland start.

"Antoine Dupont can nearly do it all on the pitch which is why the All Blacks, and potential opposite Cam Roigard, must have a plan, writes Patrick McKendry."
What? Top teams need a plan? This is extraordinary!
The perspicacious insight of journalists these days is exhilarating!....in fairness....us coming up with a gameplan tailored to our opposition rather than justhow we want to play regardless of who we're playing....would be nice
-
When I saw Dalts hamstring injury for Counties I thought there was zero chance he'd play a part on the NH Tour.
He does seem to be out of favour which I think is sad because he has a combination of mobility and clean ability that our breakdown desperately needs.
Lakai is a talent but like Sititi he's an average cleaner.

havent read the whole thread so appologies if this is old news

So Robert Van Royen either asked but didn't get a direct quote or has just assumed. Either way Ardie at 7, gets a mention.

Confirms that neither Blackadder nor Papali'i are joining the tour.
We're going to be dipping a fair way down the depth chart for this one.
I can't see them doing anything but shifting Ardie to 7 and Sititi to 8. Don't think this is a test for a newbie to start at 7.
Probably means Finau at 6, unless they do something unusual and play e.g. Vaa'i there.
Then Lakai on the bench.
The plan will obviously be for Ardie and Wallace to play the full 80, but whether they bring him on to play 6 or they shift Ardie and Wallace back to their regular positions and play Lakai at 7, who knows.
-
Would they shift Sititi to 7? Finau at 6 and keep Ardie at 8? Not sure I would do it myself, but it wouldn't surprise me because I am not sure numbers on backs mean too much nowadays.

@Crazy-Horse definitely still means something as far as set piece, very different defending openside to blindside
