Feed keeps stopping for me. And Conrad need to give a little less instructions.

I don't mind his reffing at all, but the feed quality keeps skipping. Whether that's a NZR+ or Youtube problem I don't know, but it's irritating.

Narawa seemed to look for his support quite early on that run. A group of either mates or his rugby club mates sitting nearby gave some good natured stick in his direction for getting caught though 🙂

On Friday I saw him nearly beaten in a sprint by some primary school kids - embarrassing. Real time at the game I think he knew the pass was the best option early on, I still think he could have gassed the chaser if he'd dug it in. Comfortable win although I didn't think we looked all that much better, just took the opportunities that came along.

No love for Josh Bekhuis? Now the most capped NOC player of all time.

When they showed the list of the most NPC games played, IIRC there were four from Southland from the six players shown.

@Yeetyaah well I said it when it cost the Naki a game. Kind of agree don't like TMO, but we stuck with it. I personally of old school if ref doesn't see it , didn't happen. But guess we won't win on that. Kind of can't make up my mind, but do prefer when the TMO only comes in when asked by ref, not when he sees something, is all what I think.

Craig Goodman - I've got his book - The rise and all of Nelson Bays rugby.

Here's the Mark Milne try he refers to.

Classic action from 1992 3rd Division Final between Horowhenua and Nelson Bays played in Levin. (Excuse the ghosting in the footage of this one).

These days they'd be looking long and hard at a knock on at the base of the ruck!

That was the physical manifestation of me sitting my A Level examinations at the end of my secondary school education

Enough natural talent combined with a little bit of work and the questions I spotted coming up to feel good about the performance and the result after 30 minutes, only to see that there is 50 minutes left to the 'test' and with the odd exception of an educated guess I'm an observer for the remainder of the time unable to do anything about it

I'm not reading all that novel when you just mean, yeah there were also some very ordinary moments and his defence could do with some work.

This is because you’re focusing on the negatives and can’t admit the kid has something. If you can’t see it then I can’t help you there.

Do you expect all players in their early twenties to be the finished product?

Yeah that's exactly what I said, great call.

    🙄

Ok no you were on point when you suggested a guy who's only just started being trusted to move to the midfield from wing in the mighty NPC, against the giant stags, would possibly push the best 12 in the country out of his spot in super rugby. Defensive mistakes against the world class Te Tamaki are littered through everyone's CVs.

I don't know why I didn't get all giggly schoolgirl over Higgins too. I was completely wrong to suggest defence might be a good thing.

Lol I can’t take someone seriously when they critique a player from a 5 minute highlights package.

You do realise he played like 4 games at 12 for the Canes this year aye and performed just aswell as Jordie did without the brain fades.

He also hasn’t just been trusted to wear the 12 jersey, they’ve shifted him around because he’s versatile and they obviously want as many good players on the park as possible. Just another example of you clearly not watching Welly over the last couple of years because he’s worn the 12 jersey plenty of times (including the 2022 final).

You’ve clearly not watched Wellington closely in the last couple of weeks/years so debating this with you is completely pointless.

    Enjoyable game

Hall needs to take the L and not cry to the ref after the game.

Simpson is a real talent for just 18.

    Che Clark needs more minutes

    Tangitau looked impressive all game

Mathis is talented but his size could limit his aspirations. He should convert to 2nd five : he has speed to burn and good hands.

@family-man he's definitely a similar mould to a young Ardie, not the biggest at all but very effective. Hopefully he fills out a bit. With Kirifi getting injured he'll likely push his case for that Hurricanes spot with Ardie moving on. I'm sure there will be others around the country that will be doing the same.

Tizzano has 57 tackles in his first 3 Tests at 100% completion.

He's a fucking animal, that kid.

57 tackles at 100% suggests more of a machine than an animal. That's seriously impressive.

FMG - nice setup for a stadium that size. Overpriced food and bev are part of the landscape of course but the concourse access was good. I accept the crowd wasn't huge of course

Aki v jordie is a toss up

    No it isn’t.

Put a genuine truck it up the guts/“no one comes down our channels eh pretty boy” 2nd 5 outside any of your flyhalves and you become a seriously scary team.

Make it Aki or Esterhuizen or that Scottish bloke who’ve also got good hands and you’re Freddie Krueger as your proctologist terrifying.

Jordie should be on the bench. He covers basically the whole backline at a high standard so you can go 6-2, which instantly improves your forward pack.
