I expect a few changes and some key players to be rested for the SA test the following week. Cruden/Sopoaga at 1st 5, Dixon for Kaino, Pat T/Romano to be in the 23.

Haven't read over the thread yet but man Phil Kearns is a whiny bitch. You'd think Fox would ask him to tone it down because he makes Tony Johnson seem balanced for Crusaders/ Ta$man games (and Smithy for Magpies games).

You know what I'm actually glad when he cries like a little girl, because when he's like that I know we're kicking their ass.

Its really gone past his ususlly cheerleading one eyed stuff to flat out moaning hasn't it. Add nothing other than bitching and moaning and complaining about how much the opposition is cheating. Both games this year he has addressed Crocket as "one of the most penalised props in the world" just petty shit. Foxsports need to reign him in, how is that good for growing the game?

Funny, that some see this in him as he doesn't remind me one bit of Alatini - I see him more as a recent Ngatai or early Mauger (2002ish) type player, calm as but can take a break and crunch it up if need be.

I thought he had a good game, I certainly can't remember him being lost in the first half as ACT is implying.

Of the lineouts that Whitelock didn't pinch at least 3 of them were not straight. The refs clearly don't care about not straight anymore.

Oh, and as for the niggle. That was just dumb shit from Oz, Chieka is an idiot. All it did was cost them 10 minutes in the bin and a string of penalties. It was just stupid stuff that you'd think Chieka would have put a stop to at half time but they just bumbled along. Pocock is not an 8 and he may pilfer a lot of ball but he lies across the ruck likes he's one of the English loose forwards in the early 90s. I've firmed up even more on having Cane than him or Hooper after this match (in a theoretical world).

Poite is just a random ref and I tend to think his random decisions balance out in the end.

It wasn't a smashing but a four tries to none win is still a good thing, so I'm happy.

I forget who mentioned the it, but I liked a post about Cruden not being the best option as a sub. To me he either starts or doesn't make the 23. Imh Lima offers alot more impact as a sub.

But the most important thing is that Barrett should stay at 10. He is farking killing it right now, and sending him to fb is just a waste.

Talk that Franks might be in a bit of strife for his work on Douglas' head in a maul. Poite saw it at the time and told Franks to get off the head. Which he did eventually but probably couldn't hear at the time.

Totally agree re Barrett. Cruden's good but doesn't add anything extra than Barrett, just unnecessary disruption. Not sure that Sopoanga would be any different.

Honestly, you'd be fucking mad to put him anywhere else right now. Particularly as settling on a midfield is a little tricky otherwise.

Officials apparently send a runner to find Cheika for the refs meeting. He came back saying the only guy he could find was a scruffy truck driver mumbling to himself

Do the Aussie selectors know what their best backline is, even when everyone is fit?

If Mitchell were fit would he be starting ahead of DHP? Toomua or Giteau? Kurindrani was fit but yet lost his spot to a rookie. If Foley is the answer at 10 then surely he should have stayed there and gone with Kerevi (who played 12 vs England) and TK and had Cooper off the bench. Genia has looked okay, but Phipps has been the preferred man playing almost 80 in previous tests.

Ref was baffling today, well pretty on form for Poite generally. I hate watching games he and Barnes ref. Both lapse between good and just hopeless. If only we could clone Owens and bin the rest of them!

The Wallabies are just awful at the moment. Set piece horrendous. Kicking game very poor. Defensive alignment is poor & slow, and what's with the silly niggle (which we seem to be wading into too). Cheika started this he needs to stop it and get them focussing on Rugby. Reminds me of 97 bringing in Michael Brial for a bit of mongrel, it didn't work then, won't work now. It's not 1956.

Team just looks lost, I'd start by dropping Moore, he's out of form and hardly leading by example. Pocock to get a run again IMO. Hooper doesn't look in top form either.

As for the AB's. Don't believe the hype. We're playing well, but if we come up against a more structured team things will be a lot more difficult. The Wallabies had no ball, couldn't win a set piece, and made mistakes. Sure we look good, but I don't think we can measure ourselves just yet until we get tested a lot harder.

Amazing to win 42 on the trot at home though, incredible statistic.

That's what makes impact subs difficult, Barret, And Smiths can literally play a full 80mins at such a high standard, I think only Tamanivalu added impact in the backs. I can also see the reluctance with Tuipalotu on the bench given our locks can easily put in 80 minute shifts.

Scary thing with the ABs is I thought they did not capitalize on opportunities with usual ruthlessness, if they did we would have been looking at 50 points.

Not sure if Cruden is impact sub as much as 10 insurance.
PS even if he didn't play as well as last week it is a real delight to watch BB learning how to gel his considerable skills together.
