Why? So he can sing along to "The boys are back in town" while cradling a stubbie of crap beer to his shoulder?

Yeah I thought last week that after the team was named that they would be saving Pat T for the Boks. Romano I think will play vs the Argies because of the scrum.

I'm a fan of Squire and like that they've given him another shot.

Based on last weeks result, with the forward pack being pretty handy, I think it is an ideal opportunity to give ALB a run, maybe get Savea back to form and let Dagg go on the wing.

Saw an interview with Mortlock this morning and he had been around them in the past couple of days and said he doesn't get a good vibe or see anything that indicates they can turn it around.

Wasted out on the wing? What??? He's scored 18 of his 22 AB tries whilst playing on the wing. Hardly seems a waste.

I just feel he has opportunity to get his hands on the ball and make more impact at 15.
I'm not saying he's a bad winger at all, just far prefer him at 15.

Food for thought - It's hardly a labour of love, ALB has many rivers to cross but if it happens again, I'm sure we'll get over it.
That's my way of thinking anyway.

Who's going to have an issue? Some of your Canes brethren (aside from Winger who we can just discount from any discussion he just wants Cane-a-blacks selected every week)?

Seems to be everyone seems happy so far.

Great for ALB, he looked impressive this season but I doubt anyone expected his rise to be so meteoritic. I think he'll do the job well. Really gutting for Ngatai though this season, hopefully his head comes right.

Squire's another one who's had a meteoritic rise as well. He appears to have overtaken fan favourite Dixon or his height allows them to use him as a lock/loose forward.

    Winger and Canes4life , mostly.

ha, yeah, he didn't seem particularly happy saying it either, think he like most Aussie rugby people, are concerned.

Think they said was 2001 (bloody Eales) when they last won in Wellington, and Stirling joked that he had a full head of hair then, Mehrts did say lucky it wasn't at EP where they haven't won in forever!

Stoked for ALB, it was really impressive the way he stepped in for Ngatai and filled that hole. The man has a huge future (pity about his old man-like music tastes though, UB40? Really?).

Not sure about the Dagg/Smith swap. Dagg was alright on the wing back in the day but I dunno how he'd go now. I guess we'll see though.

It must suck to be a Wallabies fan, and be reminded of that team. It was fucking awesome. And so long ago.

Speaking of Ngatai, does anyone have an update on him? Sure hope he gets through his concussion issues and is ready for the EOYT. Am worried that it may be another Broadhurst type scenario.

Always amazed me that UB40 needed about ten fucken band members to make a sound that to me was just like one bloke with a drum machine and a synthesizer. I also read that one of the original members fell on hard times and had to join a UB40 tribute band haha. Mind you some of them do sound pretty good to be fair but in my mind there's no substitute for the real thing and real or not, UB40 were pretty shit overall.....well "Don't break my heart" is a good song. It says a lot about todays music that a cool young AB lists them as a favourite band.

Anyway back to the Rugby, I'm even more out of touch than usual having been away but what does Squires bring to the table that Dixon doesn't ? Is 6 foot 5 really that much of an advantage over 6 foot 4 in the lineout ?

Back off the rugby and onto UB40, I'm not surprised that a band member fell on hard times when there were about ten other members to share the profits with. Mind you, one tenth of fuck all is the same as a quarter of fuck all.

Didn't they just cover other people's hits? Elvis, Neil Diamond etc.

They have a point. The Canes butt raped the Crusaders and forced them to eat their own testicles, yet they get more Allblacks.

Actually I'm totally cool with the selections. I just wanted to mention that the Canes butt raped the Saders 🙂

On a serious note I'm a bit underwhelmed by Dagg on the wing. Bit risky, but Id go for the young fella. I also want Pat T on the bench. Don't see why they cant unleash him on both the Wallabies and the Boks.

Naaa they did a whole heap of their own stuff as well. Like I said I do genuinely like "Don't break my heart" for whatever reason, they should have stopped there cos the rest of their stuff is just awful. That's just my opinion though, they were a massive band and sold shitloads so not exactly sure how guys can fuck up and lose the hughe amounts of money they had.......then I think people like Mike Tyson and it all makes sense and obviously Jonah was out of cash when he passed away as well,

Back to the Rugby so this post doesn't get deleted I can honestly say I could pass ALB in the street and not know who the hell he is. Can I have a list of strengths/weaknesses from a Chiefs fan by any chance ?
