We already have Dagg and Ben Smith as certs so we have two players fighting for one position. If Naholo is our best left wing, then what is Savea's role? Savea isn't an option for the bench (Naholo is an option for the bench as he has come on at 13). If Naholo goes down the day before a game and if you still want a power winger, you have Moala to give you that option.

If you still think that Savea is a better player than Naholo then you definitely pick Savea in the squad. I just haven't seen much evidence of that over the last couple of weeks.

I'd say neither had crowned themselves in glory lately. Savea dropped a pass he should have kept and failed to gather a kick down near his ankles. Naholo's problem seems to be decision making - particularly if someone's jumped into the air for a catch. One is easier to fix.

i would definitely have him replaced by Lowe. In my opinion he has put in a lot of quality performances and his skill level, decision making and ability to keep the ball alive is way above both Savea and Naholo. One error yesterday but in the context of his consistency all season I think he should be an All black.

I have heard this bloke has Caleb Ralph like attacking skills though. It's not 2002 anymore.
-

Savea aside I REALLY hope Moala is in the RC squad. I hope not playing finals footy doesn't count against him, he has so much upside.

Agreed. He did his chances no harm at all with the 20 minutes he got against the Tahs.

The elbow injury didn't look to be an issue at all, made quite a few runs including one clean break, nailed Folau in a tackle and then drove through the ruck to get a turnover, and then his hustle to get up out of the ruck after he tried a pick and go, lead to receiving a pass for an easy match winning try.
-
Success has come thick and fast for Savea. Hes on course to be our greatest all time try scorer. World Champion already at a young age and hes done things on the field at different stages for club and country that only Jonah before him has been able to do. He needs a rest. Time away to refocus and get hungry again. When youve done so much so quickly its hard to maintain the desire and focus to get stay on top....unless you are McCaw.

surely has to be something going on in his personal life, you don't lose the basic sklls and nous he is struggling with right now.

He has banked enough forgiveness points to get a shot at TRC, but he may only be there to see what he'll be missing if he cant sort his game out.
-

Well he's certainly hungry enough...

But in all seriousness I think the best thing for him is ITM cup. Being dropped from the ABs will sting and he'll at least have regular footy to keep fit and get his skills and confidence back. Hopefully he'll be right for the eoyt. -

Yeah nah Lowe doesn't do it for me. Good boot but not much else he does would suggest he is test standard.

Yeah I think the days of the slow and steady ( much as this sounds like a bit of a contradiction in terms ) wingers are a thing of the past even though it might be argued the ABs won the 2011 WC with one of these types in Kahui.
-

Lowe isn't slow?

I'm sure, but he wasn't what you'd call an incredible attacker in the Lomu/Rokokoko/Savea/Naholo league.....
-

I thought Lowe took a step backwards in his performance vs the Highlanders. He's got talent but still makes dumb decisions (e.g. getting held up in a tackle). He needs to show more consistency. Remember Lowe is younger than Savea so has time to show improvement.

Wow no love for Lowe. Sounds very similar to the lack of love Cory Jane and Ben Smith got before making ABs regularly. I still think he can be a very good AB and will be lethal at the back and will make good decisions. I guess we will see.

Well yes but those two had/have kinda uncanny attacking skills....does Lowe ?
-

I think Lowe is the opposite of slow and steady.

He's big, fast and has great skills - and I think the Chiefs have given him a license to use his flair. That comes unstuck occasionally, but he's only just 24 so I think his decision-making will mature - and probably wouldn't be hard for the ABs to rein him in just a touch.

Right now, he's probably a better bet than Jules.
-

Im in the camp that wasnt overly excited by Jane before selection , I actually saw his initial selection as a sign of a lack of depth ,its pretty funny now , he was all class .

I see a bit of Jane in Lowe with his linking game, always bringing his supports into play
