Irish Richard was a genuinely nice bugger. Why he decided to side with Cal and her psychotic hacking/abusive behaviour was beyond me.

Say what? What happened there?

I think Cal was pre my time.
-

I've been here since 1999. In the old days it was like a public bar in a country pub with a bunch of blokes talking footy and hanging out.

The pub got renovated in the mid 2000's and a few of the old guys dropped off as the new crowd came in and have continued to do so since.

Been some true characters on here and I've learnt heaps about rugby plus been able to follow NZ's other sporting success's like the Basketball World Champs.

Still check out TSF every day and find it invaluable in keeping up with Kiwi sport.

I'm the old fella with the 7oz beer that never says anything now.
-
Been here since approx 2002, love the tag line "you heard it here first" used to say to the brother in law that it was just a minor repeat of "Planetrugby.com" man have I been wrong over the years

2004 just about 12 months before the Lions Tour and post the Mitchell era. Don't post much as I hardly played Rugby so I read, learn and then pontificate on my first love, Cricket. I will say that this place was the first port of call after Marty Crowe's death because of the community here. The Fern will always be synonymous with to my mind the greatest era of AB rugby (not over yet hopefully)

I joined in late 2005 but started reading somewhere between the lions tour and eoyt. Came across from some god aweful IRB forum where every thread was a 'name your world XV' topic or similar. Pretty sure someone there was also a member here and told me to check it out but never remembered who it was. A fern guardian angel i guess.

ha great to see other posters been here longer than me with less posts! I was about circa 2002/03 initially only to get the team listings for fantasyrugby.com when they used to do the NPC. Probably posted more in the last 2 years than the rest of the time combined..must be due to moving back to NZ I suppose

I came here in 2005 after being a poster on the BBC and IRB Rugby Forums for a couple of years, it was like stepping into the best pub discussion ever at the time. Took a break in 2008-9, but been here most days since. I have learned lots about Rugby from this forum.

I'm not completely 100% on the details (more like 80-90%) so I'll leave one of the mods who has been around for a while to outline it.
-

yeah I caught up with IR when he was in NZ and watched a Northland game with him, seemed a top bloke, I don't recall the Cal incident.

You've really racked up the posts in that time! :)

I'm a bit concerned at ticking over 12,000 posts. If (optimistically) they've taken on average two minutes to write (and there's been quite a few "got 'eem's" in the cricket threads over the years) then I've wasted 16 full days of my life posting here. Lucky I don't read anything you bastards write....!

Three positives from this:

1. I don't go to the pub much these days, so don't waste lots of time there talking sport.

2. It's better than bloody Facebook.

3. I got paid for most of it! :)
-

haha same!

Been here since 2005 , I tend to come and go a bit, usually becoming more interested in some rugby discussion as things on field get more interesting
