Well, if they hosted the games in the West Indies..

I like her style and approach as well, goes out all guns blazing at the start and just trusts her strength, condition and training to get her through to the finish. It seems a little braver to lead from the front and back yourself to stay there than what it does to try and run people down in the home straight...
She's like the anti-All Blacks. Fate is in her own hands.
What?
leads from the front

Need one more gold medal from someone to equal LA in 1984.
This will be more impressive because there has been no boycott. No disrespect to the 1984 cohort but would we have had that haul if the East Germans and Hungarians had been there?
There's always that asterisk on LA but agree with @Machpants re enhanced performance by the Commies.

so basically we are really good at things in really small boats.
LA was "sitting down or going backwards"

Women's Kayak Four 500m (Carrington, Hatton, Hoskin & Regal)? Starts tomorrow.
Nick Willis? His semi-final on the 1500m is tonight at 11.00pm.
Willis not juiced enough, and surely 38 is too old.

I can understand calls to strip them of their medals but when I read stuff like this I think it might be best to at least let them have something for their suffering. All those medals came at a shocking cost.

Lydia playing well so far over the opening 9 holes of 2nd round and -5 for the day (-6 overall). Even started the day with a bogey so great going
And another birdie on 10......shes playing some amazing golf today
Up to 6th now - and more holes left than any of the other leaders (which isn't always a good thing, but...).
This course is really open to good scoring. Brilliant conditions too
Nelly Korda finished with a double-bogey to give a slight glimmer of hope to the rest. Still tied the Olympic record for the lowest round.
Bits of sporting achievers that family - Mrs Korda, who peaked as a quarterfinalist at the French Open (in tennis), is probably the low man on the totem pole.

@mariner4life Yeah the athletics has been really fun, I actually have enjoyed our performances more than the swimming despite the fact we haven't won a single medal.
We've still got more to come as well - our men's 1500m runners have a chance, so do our female high jumpers and javelin throwers. And the young bloke currently sitting second in the decathlon. Would love one of them to sneak a medal.
It’s a different vibe. The swimming team qualifying is incredibly hard (have to match or beat slowest time in final from previous world championships) and they’re expected to medal. Anything less is a failure or choke. The runners don’t have the same expectations and you can see that in how much more relaxed they are. They’re just happy to be there and it shows.

Meanwhile, Australia also on course for a historic result. 17 gold medals so far, which equals our all-time best from Athens (edit: didn't count properly, we actually have 17.).
If we still competed as Australasia, we'd be up to 24 golds and 55 medals - comfortably in third on the medal table and worrying the Americans.
Pretty amazing for a combined population of 30 million!
A few combined teams might have picked up some additional or upgraded medals, as well.
