Although they do the same at every other sport too so I guess you can't really call it 'moneyball'. Not sure what the rest of the schedule is like but they're holding onto their lead at the top of the leaderboard pretty handily at the moment.
Say what you like about communism, but by god it turns into medals.
Just ask the Germans. East Germany won 35 gold in 1988. Germany currently has 6 I think. They’ve gone from about 12 gold in the pool to 1 bronze.
It did fuck the country doing it. All those resources put to work, but no bread for the people
Actually East Germany had enough food and was the “best” communist country by some way. East Germans I know always said they had plenty of cash but nothing to buy. But obviously in comparison to the West it was a complete joke. Just look at cars. The West had Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW etc. The East had…the Trabant… And of course there was the small matter of being spied on all the time and machine gunned if they tried to leave.

lol, don't judge books by covers
the very african looking aussie steps up to the mic after her 400m. And you expect her to sound one way...
and she is aussie as fuck! classic
There was a huge influx of Sudanese migrants about 15-20 years ago. Seeing the influence of that on national teams now. Just look at the Olyroos captain.
Peter Bol in the 800m tomorrow as well.
A lot of them live near me in Blacktown - given the height of some of them, I'm tempted to ask if they'd like to play rugby, but know that basketball is very attractive to a lot of their guys.
They’re very tall but also very thin. Would need to be fattened up a bit for rugby but the potential is there. Reckon we’ll see one in the second row for the Wallabies one day.

3.46pm: Lisa Carrington & Caitlin Regal (women's K2 500m final)
