I just found out the Olympics has 3-on-3 basketball. This festival has jumped the shark. They're not even trying to hide that it's about money and fuck all else
Have you seen the teams? Never heard of these blokes. The US has some bloke who is 5'10
Oh and fuck anything synchronised

@canefan was going to say - anyone complaining about TMOs in rugby should watch the field hockey - craziness.
They should have a rule, if you can't see something to overturn the umpires decision within 60 seconds it's a no go

A great effort by the women's eight in the final 500 m to automatically qualify for the final. Prendergast and Gowler had to race twice in 3 h.
It was a great race. Think i was more impressed by the mens 8, purely because they were not expected to even be close in their heat behind big guns Netherlands and Great Britain and almost got direct to final finishing second
-
Yep, the men's eight did well too. The British commentators we had weren't happy with the GB men's or women's eights.
For the women, they wanted to minimise how often Prendergast and Gowler race as they are doubling up. Having to go to the repechage in the eights would have been a disaster.

The cycling is quite a hard watch if your just a once year TdF fan like me. I guess the commentary are restricted by info they receive, but we have NZ commentary and I have no idea where Bennett is, assume in peloton?
Nobody is getting information. Very poor coverage. No graphics with gaps etc.
We have switched to BBC. Those commentators on Sky were doing my head in. At least the BBC are tour experienced and their rider knowledge is streets ahead. -

First gold won in the games by China in the woman's 10m air rifle. That's a thing
10m ? Sounds like a fairground game. Did she win a big soft toy?

Nothing to watch in a long one day race like this until the last 1.5 hrs... Normally a hot hilly race like this the favs won't do shit until the final couple of climbs.. Just going to be a race of attrition.
GVA is smacking it on the front for some unknown reason
Only hilarious thing that's happened so far is there's been one crash and it's GERAINT Thomas. That guy needs fucking traini g wheels -

I'm staying up tonight waiting in excited anticipation for the first appearance of the Dunlop Volleys elite Team Yo-Yo athletes. I believe they will first drop to their knees to worship some new religion targeting the unearned privilege enjoyed by those who work for a living.
They're in the northern hemisphere, I think, so I estimate a 13 hour time difference here to there - world class Rock the Baby and Around the World moves, it will be fully awesome!.

Clareburt wins his heat in the 400m medley with his fastest time in a heat this year. Classically not rated by the British commentator when asked her opinion on who to watch and led most of the race.
He looked impressive. The Pom in his race probably won’t make the final.
Edit: Qualifies 2nd fastest and Pom scrapes in. Jap world champ doesn’t qualify.
