Man, they were scoring at will in that second half.

    67-3!!

That was some classy running rugby from the girls. Wallaroos had nothing.

These games against the Aussies are good as warm-up games but they don't really say much about where the Ferns are internationally. It will be interesting to see how they will do on their tour when they play Ireland (current World Champs) and England (professionals).

Really entertaining to watch. Some real physicality from both sides.

The BFs handling was pretty damn good and some very impressive performances.

Hopefully the game on Wednesday will also be televised here in Aus.

Including our 1st 5. But she has real skills and passes well both ways.

Wow, didn't hear what she was saying but the Aussie 14 has just been sent off with yellow for faul mouthing the ref. The ref also warned the captain that if it happened again the card would have "another colour".

Sarah Goss scored the first try after 4 and half minutes: 7-0 Black Ferns

Half time: Black Ferns leading 17 to 3. Tries to Goss, Natua and Hireme.

Wallaroos are much stronger today; especially halfway the first half they were attacking well. But the Ferns' defence was strong and in the end, the Wallaroos got nothing more than their 5th minute penalty goal for their efforts.

Hopefully, the Wallaroos can continue playing like this in the second half, because this game is much better to watch than that massacre on Saturday.

NZ captain sent to the bin for going off her feet (not for the 1st time). Chance for the Wallaroos to maybe score some points, but NZ defence is really strong, with all players doing their bit. Woodman is a beast in the midfield.

No Sarah Goss. Some of the other contracted 7s players are in the squad, so 7s commitments can't be the reason.
Also the big no. 10, Victoria Subritzky-Nafatali, is missing and instead a less experienced first-five has been named.
Media release doesn't say anything about injuries.

Looking at the number of caps in both teams, it's not hard to see that England are favourites, despite New Zealand being ranked no. 1 in the Women's World rankings. The six nations countries get to play each other every year. England also plays other internationals like the Super Series. The Black Ferns are lucky if they get a few games each year and then often they play weaker Australia. I hope captain Fiao'o Faamausili lasts beyond the WRWC next year, so she can reach 50 caps. It will be a tough game for the Ferns, but a good one to watch.

Impression after 5 minutes of play: England is MUCH stronger than the Black Ferns. After just over a minute, England scored the first try. Now, after 6 and half minutes the ref (Amy Perrett) has sent Black Fern Charmaine Smith to the bin.

    England leads 5-0.

@Stargazer Well if that was the case after just over a minute, it's not looking so bad now! Cheers for the link.

And boom, NZ score to bring it evens. Some great defence by England as NZ just kept plugging away on the goal line, but geez there was some brainless play by NZ in the leadup too.

Converted from the sideline by Cocksedge! NZ lead at the break, 7-5.
