Test Cricket World XI

Having a stab……very possibly missing some obvious choices.
Yashavsi Jaiwal
Usman Khawaja
Kane Williamson
Joe Root
Harry Brook
Kamindu Mendis
OllyPopeRishabh Pant ( wk )
Ravi Ashwin
Pat Cummins ( c )
Kasigo Rabada
Jasprit BumrahEmphasis on young hot shots with a sprinkling of older legends too, older legends who are still performing that is……
I can’t think of any better than Khawaja and Pope at the moment and a middle order all rounder might be handy too.

Considering I’d have Smith over Pope for England every day of the week, I’d question his (Pope’s) inclusion.
I can’t think of any outstanding keeper batsmen in the game at the moment and he’s in NZ and a better option than Blundell so he gets in

I think Smith or Head in for Khawaja. Openers not too dominant currently. Maybe Starc for Cummins. Jadeja close. But that 11 looks pretty good to me based on current positions.
Cummins got in as he is the best captaincy option given Root and KW don’t do it anymore.
World class openers are pretty sparse at the moment.
Jadeja might get in batting at six given my team is slightly short of bowling options. Holders form has fallen off a cliff and Stokes doesn’t bowl enough to justify inclusion

Well ok I guess. Is Kwajah in NZ? Assuming that’s the criteria?

He’s a few hours away. That might be good enough…..
Ben Duckett might be an option ? He’s in terrific form compared to the other three openers in this test series…….

Hazlewood took 35 wickets in 7 tests at 13, but sure, leave him out.

They can get included when they can win a three Test series in India 3-0
Also, why are there more Indian names than Bumrah for such a donkey team?
-
@mariner4life yeah absolutely staggering, however I will laugh along with it, but don't help themselves on the credibility front.

Shoulda been there ahead of Atkinson. Not Henry though, what a year he’s had
-
I think it reflects a pretty mediocre year overall for test cricket.
There are names there that I thought WTF but when you look at their figures it makes sense. Atkinson took 52 wickets at 22.15 in 9 matches. Henry 48 @ 18 Hazlewood 35 @ 13 but missed 40% of Aussies tests.
Ducket only averages 37 but what opener set the world alight last year. Not any Oz or Saffa.
Jadeja shades Lyon. Smith looks the tidiest keeper with a good batting record. Hazlewood is the only player that looks an obvious omission, but as I said maybe they figure he breaks too easily. Plus Aussie had a really soft programme. Pakistan Windies and India (minus Josh in the main) at home and two tests against us away.
