Ireland v Argentina

Ref hatcheted Argentina, particularly in the final drive. Repeated green infringements.
Im getting sick of how normalised players getting carded is though....Rugby is a bit shit these days isnt it.
Im fed up of listening to refs and TMO's talk to each other.
Its fucking insufferable.

@Frank how so?
Are you saying Ireland are still really good to beat a team that beat us at home or really bad that they just scraped past Argentina?
I am saying Ireland are in decline and the team we beat was not nearly as good as a year back.

@Frank you could say the same about us not being as good as we were then either, but that we are more likely on an incline....
Sure, we seem to be improving, but that win should be put into perspective now we have seen them almost losing to Argentina at home. They look rudderless.

They definitely appear poorer without the players who retired after the RWC. They will try to rebuild

Worth remembering that Argentina also beat the Boks this year. They are quite good when they get their shit together. There really isn't much between the top sides, so that is about the only perspective that I'm getting out of it. Doesn't really change my view of our win at all.

Slowly but surely we’re seeing more and more censure for human ‘Exocet missiles’ entering the ruck with abandon
That is a train I can get on board with

Can they get more birthright players to bolster their squad?

Yep - and Ireland also beat the Boks, in SA this year.
As results go on, there's starting to be a bit of clarity, but it can all change quickly
It's all a bit like panning for gold right now - got to wait for the end of the year to see quite what's there at the end.
Be nice if we don't slosh half our gold over the edge of the pan tomorrow morning!

Enjoyed that. Williams reffed well. Irish TH lucky, as Tupaea knows that can end in a busted knee. Ireland looked a bit short if ideas on attack and their discipline vanished in the 2nd 40 but Argentina let themselves down too.
I watched on German tv. Their expert during the week (if I understood correctly) is a blues super rugby player. That’s right anton segner.
Ireland have problems: ageing veterans and the new breed not overly convincing.

That's what I love about the Argies, they play with real ambition. They aren't quite good enough to pull it off regularly so fuck it up a lot, and their discipline is shithouse - but when it comes together for 80 minutes they are very, very hard to play against. They are what France used to be.

Puts our win in perspective all of a sudden doesn't it.
We were comfortable in the end against Ireland without being at our best.
But it seems that Ireland will now need to replace a number of players and usher in a new side.
Who is going to do it though? Farrell is on sabbatical for a year

Oh man how I wanted the pumas to win that. Ireland are looking more and more like ……Ireland
Yes, that’s the Ireland I remember!
