No, the Robertson era has been a crashing disappointment so far. And I don't see that changing any time soon

@Jet I think we'll be Quarter Finalists at best in the next two World Cups. The Golden era for NZ Rugby is well and truly over.

Scotland and Wales won't be too happy going into the end of the year, this year would have been a golden opportunity for them to beat us.

Japan or Italy might burst their All Blacks cherry.

Look how fast the Foster era turned around when Schmidt and Ryan came on board. There is hope, we have some very good players. But so far Razor is not picking them and IMHO not quite playing a style that translates to test level. But to me it feels like a few tweaks in gameplan and personnel and we could right things dramatically

We are going to be fine.
We need a few strong personalities to steady the ship and I can see a lot of promise in Williams, Vaai, Sititi , Roigard and Ratima.

I don't know if the rumours about Schmidt not wanting to work with Robertson are true or not, but NZR were besotted with the idea of a fresh start with Robertson at the helm for 4 years and must have known they were losing key expertise and experience NZR have made their bed and it's up to them to support Robertson in any way they can.

The last thing we need is another man-management debacle like we had with Foster last year. No coach deserves that.

I don't think it's that bad that it can't be turned around in a year or two, though clearly changing the coach wasn't the simple magic wand many were led to be believe.

A fresh look after the EOYT and a reassessment of what the coaching setup needs to move things forward would be a good start. Maybe get grey-hairs like Vern Cotter working with Robertson on a more day-day basis.

I think the quarter final victory is doing some serious heavy lifting in our perceptions of where we are at.

Ireland beat us 7 or 8 times out of 10 these days in my opinion.

We won the important game, sure, but I dont think it accurately reflects the trends of both nations.

Dead right. If we had 1/10th of the focus in that game we'd have likely won the RC.

The rumours that Razor went to HQ and threatened to leave NZ if he didn't get the ABs job are apparently true. So they made their choice

    @BerniesCorner

I don't have any issues with Cane being around the 23 but he isn't an 80 minute player so by all means bring on a replacement

Not many coaches are going to hang around at super level after 7 consecutive wins regardless.

Cotter replacing Ryan as a selector would have a massive positive impact. If the pressure builds I'm sure Robertson will throw another assistant under the bus to keep his job

There is massive irony in the argument that the reason the All Blacks are struggling is that they have picked the Crusaders coaches, and they are picking the Crusaders players so this is why we are failing... and the solution?

The Blues players and the Blues coaches!

Scott Robertson was rightly hyped as the best coach in the fricken world, how about we give him some time. This sentiment is ridiculous.

Rightly hyped as the best coach in the world despite never coaching test rugby and never coaching club rugby in Europe?

    What?

People losing their minds with Razor. Let's have a look at how Rassie Erasmus (arguably the best coach in the world) went in his first eight tests after taking over as Springboks Head Coach in 2018:

    v Wales (N) - LOST 22-20
    v England (H) - WON 42-39
    v England (H) - WON 23-12
    v England (H) - LOST 25-10
    v Argentina (H) - WON 34-21
    v Argentina (A) - LOST 32-19
    v Australia (A) - LOST 23-18
    v New Zealand (A) - WON 36-34

So in other words, a fairly similar start to what Razor had. It takes a coach time to adapt, and to work out the best players to carry out his systems. Like any coach, he'll need to adapt, but if Razor can't make it work, then the idea that a Vern Cotter coached team with a loose forward trio of Ioane, Papalii and Sotutu would dominate is just silly.

We've been the better side for more or less 75% of each of the eight tests we have played so far. When he works out his bench, we'll convert these tests. I would not be surprised to see them work out, and for us to end the year with six more wins.

    @frugby

Rassie took over when the Boks were at their lowest nadir with Coetzee.

Robertson got a side where the bulk of the players were a whisker away from winning and RWC.

And from that team you've taken out:
Retallick and Whitelock (An all-time great locking pairing and 2x 100+ Cappers)
    Frizell (Starting blindside)
Smith (An all-time great halfback and 100+ Capper)
Mo'unga (Starting First Five, Clearly Razor's preferred option and 50+ Capper)

This is quite a different side.
