NZ Sevens 2024-25

Looks like the AB Sevens don't really have an able replacement for Leroy Carter on the wing. Vai doesn't have the pace to be consistently dangerous there.
More positively, Maka, Mathis and Taumateine have looked really good. Perhaps Maka eventually takes that wing spot. Hopefully Kunawave is given a shot in the next few tournaments. He has genuine pace and is good in one-on-one situations.

Vai is more of a ball player than an outside back Spain are quick and abrasive. Love the way they have played this tournament.
Would love them to upset Fiji.

I was hoping they would look at Waisake Salabiau or Stanley Solomon. Both were stars at U18 sevens.

The SVNs format and split sky sessions does my head in. Try to record it and always find I miss sessions and end up scrolling through hours for matches I want to see. Really not user friendly for fans.
Mathis looks really promising. Vai worries me with his lack of game smarts. I hope to see more of Maka and want to see Rokolisoa and Ware back in to sharpen us up. Thought Collier was underused and they really missed Carter and Fineanganofo. -
Just got up and have seen result if this is not a big enough red flag that the NZ 7s programne is in free fall i dont know what is
Has Rob Rush had a run ? -

Is there only one Rush? If so, he played, but it's probably debatable if he had a run. He carried the ball like a skinny prop.
The captain and Ormond are ridiculously slow at distribution on attack and kill any opportunity.
Vai looks spent.
Ng Shiu, NMB and the newbies seem to be all that's keeping up.
