Reserves: Asafo Aumua, Ofa Tu’ungafasi, Fletcher Newell, Sam Darry, Sam Cane, TJ Perenara, Rieko Ioane, Mark Tele’a.

Cully: Beauden Barrett, Will Jordan, Billy Proctor, Jordie Barrett, Caleb Clarke, Damian McKenzie, Cortez Ratima, Wallace Sititi, Ardie Savea, Samipeni Finau, Tupou Vaa'i, Scott Barrett (c), Tyrel Lomax, Codie Taylor, Tamaiti Williams.
Reserves: Asafo Aumua, Ofa Tu’ungafasi, Fletcher Newell, Sam Darry, Ethan Blackadder, TJ Perenara, Harry Plummer, Rieko Ioane

Hinton: Will Jordan, Mark Tele’a, Rieko Ioane, Jordie Barrett, Caleb Clarke, Damian McKenzie, TJ Perenara, Ardie Savea, Sam Cane, Ethan Blackadder, Sam Darry, Scott Barrett (c), Tyrel Lomax, Codie Taylor, Tamaiti Williams.
Reserves: Asafo Aumua, Ofa Tu’ungafasi, Fletcher Newell, Tupou Vaa’i, Luke Jacobson, Cortez Ratima, Beauden Barrett, Anton Lienert-Brown.

Cully’s forward pack is extremely ambitious. Hinton’s backline seems unlikely.

What they agree on: 1-4, Ardie starting, 10-12, Will Jordan starting, 16-18,

Regardless of who you agree with it is indicative of where the Allblacks are at the last few years.

No consensus backrow or centres for example.

@W32 is that a new sign or is that the pic from just after the RWC?

Even if re-hashed, quality trolling, win or lose, that sign will burn.

Don't know, saw it somewhere and had a giggle.

those Stuff guys don't get paid for that do they? Some of those teams would look strange even if they were posted by some of the bigger mentalists on here.

Did two of them really promote Sititi and move Savea to 7?

These long breaks between tests are even messing up the "journos"

That's generous. They write this rubbish without the breaks too.

I'm not defending them, but the teams were only part of the full article. The Post link is paywalled.

The official choice at fullback might tell us how much influence MacDonald had. I hope we don't see the Hinton backline.

I find it odd that the journos want mass changes before such a big test. We finally showed some form in that first half against the Argies at Eden Park, let's have some consistency in selection for once and let the same group back up in Jo-burg. If they fail miserably then look at making changes for the next test.

Ellis Park isn't the stage to throw the likes of Proctor and Sititi into the fray, who have had limited minutes so far. I hope the selectors are sensible and we see a similar 23 to what we saw at Eden Park almost two weeks ago.

I'm not surprised "journos" write anything to stay employed.

You know shit is real when you’re not even advocating for Proctor to start 😉

@MN5 he'll get his opportunity but throwing him in against South Africa at Ellis Park after only one test would be moronic. Same with Sititi and other young players in the squad. I think in this test we need as much experience on the park as we can get which is why I won't be surprised if Cane gets the nod at 7.

do modern sports journos in NZ much more than minimum wage? I thought it was terribly paid unfortunately. @Smudge any insights?

I know guys who have been around for a good 8-10 years (and in one case more than 20) are still on salaries starting with a 7.

No wonder so many disappear to comms where a starting salary for a comms advisor is potentially $80k or more.
