(rugby is a way better sport with chaos).

Had this EXACT thought at some point in the game. First half... can't remember the context exactly. Seattle: legaliszed cannabis. Anyway - it was some fucking fun rugby to watch for a few minutes.

I'm OK with the TMO not intervening and letting the refs call stand, as long as he isn't intervening on other errors of a similar nature.

Where was that game when Jimmy Cowan, rightly had a try scrubbed, but outside the scope of the TMO at the time.

Many years on and the TMO is still making errors, with more power.

    South Africa!

'would you like to know about the forward pass'... when the TMO was limited to 'the act of scoring'

    /sigh

The pass, the TMO and the protocol

The pass, the TMO and the protocol

The advice of the television match official at the Tri-Nations match between South Africa and New Zealand on Saturday has evoked some questioning.

    1. Jordie Barrett: Back to his best in another huge all-round display, where he racked up a game-high 91 metres (off a game-high 12 carries), notably thanks to his great 50-metre intercept try a minute into the second half. Had body on the line on both attack and defence (seven tackles without a miss) against vaunted Boks’ midfielders, put boot to ball nicely, did well to tap back long lineout play which led to Clarke’s second try, while was unlucky not to be rewarded for hit to dislodge ball on charging Mbonambi for hosts’ first try. 9

Did Mbonambi then ground the ball playing under SA advantage?

I would argue JB was trying to hold him up and he dropped the ball short. Surely the carrier has to accept some responsibility? It is frustrating that the TMO butts their head in routinely, and yet here they were strangely silent. But the ABs clearly didn't know either because even JB didn't protest the call

Those are some of the worst ratings I’ve ever see and that’s saying something

    Jordan a 7 and Rieko only a 6?

Ethan an 8 because he was “physically imposing” 😂😂😂😂

I am all in favour of technology. When used it usually gets the right decision - a lot more so than when not used. Especially in try scoring when the game has stopped and you have time. Makes no sense when every one can tell from the replay that it’s no try and the ref is still strutting his stuff insisting his first instinct was correct.

The NRL go one step further and each team has a challenge which can be used in general play.

    15-5 penalty count?

Your side needs better discipline and game management

Ths is exactly what your supporters said to your team after the 2011 QF against Aus, eh

So just so we’re clear, ok to blame losses on the ref then?

It's not about blaming losses on the ref - there's far more criticism of our braindead player than the ref. But, we are allowed to call out refs making consistently shit big calls against us - just like your coach did when the Lions beat the shit out of your boys.

And Razor should be asking the question about the Bongi try and why the TMO didn't;t intervene - especially given some of the TMO interventions in huge moments that have gone against us in recent times.

Midfield really good. Reiko's best game this year, Jordie playing to the level we need.

I’ve been a bit surprised at some of the post game comments that were critical or didn’t acknowledge this because I thought he was superb. He put pressure on the Bok defence time and again. His involvement at attacking rucks was excellent too given the way we were attacking and the Boks defending.

Far more assertive and involved. Was great to see.

Some have harked back to the McCaw era and what is worth pointing out is that during that golden phase of AB success we had some rabbit out of the hat wins at the death similar to what the Boks did last night (reffing aside). And that was an AB side laden with class across the park. The Boks had some class too no doubt. But more often than not the ABs would find a way. Wasn’t always the case in the early period of McCaw’s reign as captain. It was the Boks that found a way.

We made errors, the Boks did also. The pressure and chaos was all there. But there were some distinct things that were good to see, but plenty to work on for some, which given the scoreline does have some promise.

In theory he may have, and let’s say he did, the fact is that it’s never been reffed like that in a tackle. It has been reffed as a knock on from a strip/rip but that’s not what Jordie did.

It was clearly a try, the ref put his hand in air and indicated such!

Yes as you say, that's a fair beerfaction.

Hey everyone life is back to normal, Dan agrees with the powers that be.

Yep and as normal some don't want to accept the laws of the game, no problem, I expect I am right though😜
TMO didn't see a probelm, neither did ref, so not sure why there an argument.

Besides all else I not convinced he lost it forward, looked straight down to me .

Wow, you say some shit Dan, but that might top it. He lost it forward and he fell short. The pictures don't lie in this case

My actual point is mate, what we read in papers is all that counts. We can say it no try until we blue in the face, but if the ref says it is (he may of made a mistake,)but it still a try. My point is if the ref says it a try it is officially etc, and we can't or won't change it.. I can't say the ref's word counts when the decisions go in our favour and then moan when they don't.I said the same when living in Aus and Phil Kearns and co were on tv saying ABs shouldn't of won 2011 WC final, ref gave it to us etc etc.
The number of times I have heard/read it from losing supporters is just ridiculous.

Why are you on a forum?

Because I love rugby, didn't know you had to be a whinger to come on here.

JB did protest, you can see him gesture with his hands, but after the TJP penalty it was rather subdued.

Don't need to whinge, but people like to discuss rugby.; the tactics, execution, style, decisions etc. So to me it's valid to complain about something that quite clearly shouldn't be.

Plenty of times it’s been called as a defensive knock on when a hand or head in the tackle has seen the ball squeezed out like a zit
