For me, a focussed approach to selection required.

I think we can safely assume Sevu will make way for Clarke.

In starting tight five I'd only swap out Paddy T (assuming fit), with Vaa'i replacing Lord on bench. Adds go forward and known combo with Darry.

Ratima to pair with DMac. Other starting backs tricky, but I'd like to see Jordan start with BB on bench.

Loosies need to win breakdown!!!! That really needs a rewatch to firm up on but initial feeling is that if RD nailed in then Finau at 6. Two of Paps/Niggles/LJ/Cane to make up rest of 23. My hunch is that Finau would work well with Sergeant Sam.

Bench would stick with Newell, not much to choose between Ofa and Tamaiti, a hooker who can throw straight would be nice, TJS?, BB and Rieko/ALB/Proctor, depending on who gets the start at 13.

Changes in selection strategy will probably require a change in gameplan

Maybe they can, but they aren’t given the chance to?

I think there were probably already a few changes lined up for test two (Finau, Clarke, Proctor, props). So we'll never know what's reactionary but I fucking hope this loss doesn't mean players get a second chance to prove themselves.

Maybe Jase Ryan can cut the smart arse shit and answer questions too, he should have a few to answer.

A lot of people are blaming Razor or asking for Foster back. Has it not occurred to you that the recent shocking results over the years are due to brain dead players, not the coaches? You can’t have backline with the two Barrett’s in it and expect it to function. You can’t have a captain who helps opposition players off the ground and cries in Instagram videos and expect him to lead a team.

They’re soft. The passing from Dmac out of hand is atrocious. He hasn't improved for the past 4-5 seasons. People don’t understand how much of a loss Brett Cameron is to New Zealand rugby.

We need Cane back, we need a new 10. We need TJP away from the black jersey, we need Proctor and ALB in the centres, we need a decent six that can stand up

@KiwiInLondon Well he's playing super rugby and I'm sure even the most staunch of Canes fans @Canes4life and @Winger will disagree with you on that one.

I'd love to see Akira Ioane and Hoskins Sotutu as forward ball-carriers are our biggest need, but we are not going to.

    Yeah we know you would

@MN5 If you don't bring a mongrel or two to the backrow fight, don't be surprised if the other dogs win. 😉

Yeah but they’ve both been found wanting in the past…..then again so have the incumbents I guess

Those two have a lot going for them but I don't think 'mongrel' is among them.

I have been a fan of Ethan Blackadder but to see him barrelled over by the ball carrier in the incident where he nearly got a yellow was stark.

Cane, Collins, Kaino et al would have emptied that fella, or at least stop him dead in his tracks.
