Blackadder really does improve every time he gets injured... not quite sure how you can confidently say he is going to be the answer... telling he playing openside for the Crusaders.

A loose trio of Blackadder, Papalii and Savea would be bullied for a lack of size.

Who is bigger? Every loose forward in the country including Sotutu, etc. Exactly the same size.

    Except Finau.

Papalii doesn't seem bullied that often, isn't exactly a twig.

Also bigger, but is our 7.

Yet, Rassie has followed our lead, with a pilfering 8 but munter 6 and 7s. Anyway, I think Finau will be very good but needs time. Papalii continues to grow, Blackadder is the most natural, but is always broken.
Sotutu will be in the squad later but he tends to go missing when the heavy lifting is needed (see the Brumbies semi- I am sure that was a factor).

    @Old-Samurai-Jack

Look, I see your argument, except it still boils down to Blackadder being able to fulfill the same role as PSTD.

    Kwagga / Savea
    Kolisi / Papalii
    PSDT / Blackadder

One of those pairs is not at all like the other.

@frugby The fern logic, the less you play, the higher you get rated.

Man, this forum is crazy. We're in a transition period and things will take time getting used to. Like yeah, players had indifferent nights, but if it were up to people on Here, we'd make about 13 changes a test just to get peoples favourites in. They're still finding their feet and getting used to things under a nee coaching system. It always seems to be the same parochial bias as well which clouds everyone's judgement.

2 nil series victory against a good team. Argentina games will be invaluable before playing South Africa.

Would love to see us use more robust ball carrying and recycling.

Six, lock, and lineout biggest concerns. Need to find a better option than Finau. Maybe play Tuipulotu for 40 and have him carry a lot?

Yes but people on here can be astute and see stuff that make a difference.
JB to mid field from wing took an eternity,
Ratima - DMac was always going to be
    optimal.
Ioane in combo with the two current wings isn't setting the world on fire.
And it's obvious the loose forward combo isn't gelling.
At least try players out as in game replacements

I hear what you say, but in the last 2-3 years the rules have been:

    • If a player has a bad night or makes a mistake - blame the coach for selecting him
    • If a team needs to find its feet - blame the coach for poor preparation
    • If the ABs lose - blame the coach for not selecting the team the Fern wants
    • If a selection doesn't come off - blame the coach for getting it wrong
    • If a Fern selection doesn't come off - still blame the coach for getting it wrong

    I think that's it... ๐Ÿ™‚

Do we need a lineout coach like Paul Tito?

We won two tests we could have lost. And, dare I say it, would have lost under foster. 2 weeks in a row the subs have been made at the perfect time.

Rewind to RWC squad selection and heaps of people moaning about Finau being left out for frizzell. Think foster got that one right. Needs to up his work rate and impact.

Imagine the excuses after the first inevitable loss under Robertson will be something like "the losing margin would have been worse under foster".

    Let's move on.

Another win...winning under these circumstances provides much more benefit to the team now and going forward than a thumping.

Was interesting listening to an English guy that plays club rugby here after last week, saying how good of a game it was despite the low score - IMO just emphasized how our expectations of how much we win by seems more important than winning.

I would say under the circumstances that was Beauden Barretts best game for the All Blacks.

Looking back now itโ€™s done and dusted

The most pleasing factor despite the imperfections , we found a way to win which has always been an allblack quality
