I’d like to see the penalty count.
Really surprised no one else is talking about how shocking the Blues discipline was.
For me it was the biggest difference, if the Blues didn’t give away so many penalties, they’d have won.
13 v 8, according to ESPN
That surprises me, I feel like the Blues gave away a lot more than that.
Perhaps some advantages that didn't eventuate in pens?

Yes definitely, a couple of advantages ended in tries.

Thankfully we shouldn't encounter another scrum as good again, they beat us badly there.
Canes if we get Lomax back. And no more injuries
-
Well I think you have to be a bit pleased for Crusaders win for their supporters'
And I mean the ones that go to game, they have had good crowds all yearm and that's what proper supporters do, go and cheer support their team by being there regardless of how teams results are. -
@African-Monkey lol Lomax is better than Newell. I’d take the Canes front row of Numia, Aumua and Lomax over the Saders front row any day.

Probably a welcome relief for Penney though to come out the other side with a deserved victory against the team on top of the table.

14-6 according to JK during the aftermatch…
How can the stats vary so much between providers?

I was waiting for you to come in and say that lol, very predictable.
I like your front row, I just think Newell's the best scrummager in the country. Big deal.

Well played Crusaders. Good wake up call for the Blues.
Ta'avao is a bench scrummager despite his size. Eklund is too small to start when Riccitelli is available. Choat and Sotutu were poor. Perofeta stunk up the place.
To expand on this, the Blues power game requires their biggest, most powerful bodies to create a platform where the likes of Choat and Eklund can add something off the bench. They're just not dominating enough to play that game to start with.
-
@African-Monkey Lomax is clearly no 1. He’s arguably the best in the world with the form he’s been in.
-
@Canes4life I'd start him over Newell and think he's a better player overall, but at scrumtime, I prefer Newell, big deal, and I think Lomax is also a very good scrummager.
If Lomax didn't play for the Canes you wouldn't even react to what I'm saying lol, you don't have to act like a staunch one eyed Wellingtonian every time someone says something not in favour of one of your players haha.

Newell ain’t bad at all but Lomax is the best scrummaging prop in NZ. It’s got nothing to do with being a Wellingtonian, he’s clearly shown that the last two seasons. The Blues were lucky he was pulled before the Canes game the other week.

Burke outside of Akira to make the break.
The Akira that's not on the field?
He just went off and Blues defensive alignment was disjointed there. Sotutu did well to get a hand on Burke given a gap like the parted Red Sea.
-
@Canes4life nope, don’t think so. Regardless of where they sit on the table the Crusaders scrum has been the best in the competition.

FFS Lam, you just spared the Saders a well deserved YC
That was the final margin. For me a try out wide wasn't sufficient advantage and there ought also to have been a card.
