George North retires
-
George North has announced his retirement from International rugby after the end of the 6N and will win his 121st cap if he plays v Italy. At first I thought it might be a concussion related reason but he is continuing to play club rugby next season so it sounds as though Gatland has given him the gypsy's warning that he is not in the longer term plans. If so a class move from Gatland, giving him the out on his own say.
A great player who has been a thorn in English sides for many years now. Went through a stage of being handled appallingly by Wales through concussion events I felt. Medical evidence cited but walking around bandy legged was plain for all to see.
Happy retirement George.
Born in England you know...

Great player, but given he's Welsh, I'm not going to get all gushing There are 3-4 million Taffs who will do that instead.
You old romantic...

@Dodge Not the send off he deserved, losing at home to Italy and the Wooden Spoon.
And copping an injury

I expect that was the least painful for him. But yeah, triple whammy.

@Catogrande it was a hamstring injury to all three muscles?
