@george33 Lakai is 1.86m and 110kg, defs not too small for test rugby. He's bigger than Ardie and Kolisi who are two of the most influential players in the game. He's likely to get better and bigger so definitely a test player of the future. He's already achieved plenty at such a young age.

A few players have said that trying to tackle Lakai is like tackling concrete so he's built different aswell with his Tongan and African heritage.

Weight, for sure ... but height 🙂

If you ever see Lakai up close he's seriously built and I don't think he's fully matured yet either.

it can often be very difficult to work out whether the Hurricanes fans are talking about rugby or writing homoerotic fanfiction

Problem with Kirfi and Laki just to small for test rugby , great at super level

Lakai looks really solid for a 7 to me
Quick google search shows he is heavier but shorter than Papalii, who most would consider a pretty good size loose forward.

So is Peter Lakai the 2020s version of Jordan Taufua?

Naa mate he just the 2020s versoin of Peter Lakai, probably what he wants to be. But I will repeat anyone who thinks Lakai (or Kirifi) are too small for test rugby are a bit off the mark. Both at least as big as the likes of Kwagga Smith, and Micheal Hooper etc.

@george33 Lakai is 110kg, he’s put on 5kg in the last year and is likely to get bigger as he gets older. He's still only 21.

Listed weights and heights are often bullshit. I call it “the Daniel Braid” effect.

Next time you stalk casually run into Brad Shields at the shops can you ask him for an accurate run down on everyone’s stats ?

The majority seem about right to me. Some are clearly wrong but lakai seems about right. As does DP.

@MN5 it was very much small talk at the meat section of the Four Square haha. Good to hear he's available for selection.

Listed weights are rarely updated. Usually when a player starts at a club they put their weight down and never update it again. The All Rugby site is probably the most accurate as they tend to update this on a regular. I'd say those stats are pretty spot on.

Aumua got a warning from the judiciary for that tackle at the start of the game. Didn't met the threshold of a red card though

@george33 Lakai is clearly more solid than Segner so there you go, that explains the weight.
